AI Article Synopsis

  • - Researchers collected eleven cordyceps specimens from Mayao River Valley, noting that these fungi are typically found in forest habitats rather than in karst eco-environments like caves and valleys.
  • - They identified one known species and described two new species based on multilocus phylogenetic analysis and morphological traits.
  • - The study highlights the diversity of cordyceps in karst eco-environments and emphasizes the need for more research on entomopathogenic fungi in these unique habitats.

Article Abstract

species have been often found in the forest habitat and rarely found in special karst eco-environments, such as Tiankeng, valleys and caves. In this research, eleven cordyceps specimens were collected from Mayao River Valley. A known species () and two new species ( and ) were established and described according to a multilocus phylogenetic analysis and morphological characteristics. Our results provide insight that the richness of species in karst eco-environments and further attention should be paid to entomopathogenic fungi in such habitats.
