Background: As a common hemorrhagic cerebrovascular disease, subarachnoid hemorrhage (SAH) has high mortality and disability. Delayed cerebral ischemia (DCI) is among the major complications after SAH, severely affecting the patient prognosis. Through bibliometric analysis, this study investigated the global research status, trends, and hotspots of DCI after SAH from 2013 to 2022, providing a scientific reference for researchers in this field.
Methods: We searched the Web of Science Core Collection for articles and associated records from 2013 to 2022. The data were analyzed and presented using VOSviewer software.
Results: This study covered 3436 articles, and the number of publications issued by DCI after SAH study increased annually. The United States published the most papers and had the highest number of citations. Harvard University and World Neurosurgery were the institutions and journals with the most published papers. Keyword analysis indicated that the recent research on DCI after SAH has focused on its pathophysiological mechanisms.
Conclusions: DCI after SAH has drawn increasing interest in academic circles during the past decade. This study presented an objective, systematic, and comprehensive analysis of the literature on DCI after SAH. Currently, the hotspots in this field focus on pathophysiological mechanisms.

Background And Purpose: While the pulsatility index (PI) measured by transcranial Doppler (TCD) has broader associations with outcomes in neurocritical care, its use in monitoring delayed cerebral infarction (DCI) in patients with aneurysmal subarachnoid hemorrhage (SAH) is not endorsed by current clinical guidelines. Recognizing that arterial pressure gradient (ΔP) can be estimated using PI, we investigated the potential significance of TCD-estimated ΔP.
Methods: In this observational study of 186 SAH patients, we recorded the mean cerebral blood flow velocity (mCBFV) and PI values from the middle cerebral artery, along with corresponding blood pressures.

The clinical course of patients with aneurysmal SAH (aSAH) is often dynamic and highly unpredictable. Since its management varies between hospitals despite guidelines, this survey aimed to assess the current state of intensive care treatment for aSAH in the German-speaking region and provide insights that could aid standardization of care for aSAH patients in the intensive care setting. From February 2023 to April 2023, medical professionals of the German Interdisciplinary Association for Intensive Care and Emergency Medicine (DIVI), the Initiative of German Neuro-Intensive Trial Engagement (IGNITE) network and manually recorded clinics with intensive care units were invited to participate in a standardized anonymous online questionnaire including 44 questions.

We developed a simple quantifiable scoring system that predicts aneurysmal subarachnoid hemorrhage (aSAH) mortality, delayed cerebral ischemia (DCI), and modified Rankin scale (mRS) outcomes using readily available SAH admission data with SAH volume (SAHV) measured on computed tomography (CT). We retrospectively analyzed a cohort of 277 patients with aSAH admitted at our Comprehensive Stroke Center at Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, Florida, between January 5, 2012, and February 24, 2022. We developed a mathematical radiographic model SAHV that measures basal cisternal SAH blood volume using a derivation of the ABC/2 ellipsoid formula (A = width/thickness, B = length, C = vertical extension) on noncontrast CT, which we previously demonstrated is comparable to pixel-based manual segmentation on noncontrast CT.
