Climate change has significantly enhanced dangerous heat events. Many of our institutions are ill-prepared to provide science-informed and rapid interventions to confront this. The GeoHealth community is working to bring science, public health, and medical professionals closer together to grapple with the challenges posed by extreme heat.

Organic thermoelectric (TE) materials are of great interest for researchers in waste heat recovery, especially for waste heat harvesting at near room temperature. Significant progress has been achieved in terms of their figure of merit () values recently, which has presented new insights into the development of organic TE materials. For numerous practical applications of thermoelectric generators, where waste heat is unlimited and cost negligible, the primary goal has been switched to achieve high power output density rather than improving their heat-to-electricity conversion efficiency.

Impaired glycemic control increases the risk for type 2 diabetes (T2D) and Alzheimer's Disease (AD). Heat therapy (HT), via hot water immersion (HWI), has shown promise in improving shared mechanisms implicated in both T2D and AD, like blood glucose regulation, insulin sensitivity, and inflammation. The potential for HT to improve brain health in individuals at risk for AD has not been examined.

To further investigate the properties of Incoloy825/P110 bimetallic composite seamless pipes, thermal deformation analysis was conducted on their billets. The thermal deformation and dynamic recrystallization (DRX) behavior of Incoloy825/P110 bimetallic composite materials were studied through hot compression tests at deformation temperatures (850-1150 °C) and strain rates (0.01-10 s).

Tyrosine has been proposed to potentially provide ergogenic benefits to cognitive and physical performance in physiologically demanding environments. However research into its effectiveness on cognitive and physical performance during exercise in the heat has revealed mixed findings. This study examined the effects of a commonly employed dosage of tyrosine supplementation on soccer players' physical and decision-making performance, cognitive appraisal, and affective states, during prolonged high-intensity intermittent exercise in hot conditions.
