Trichofolliculoma is a rare benign tumor that arises from hair follicles, usually appearing as a small bump on the scalp or face.
A 49-year-old woman had a papule on her nose that was diagnosed as trichofolliculoma after being removed via punch biopsy, with no signs of recurrence afterward.
Understanding the characteristics of trichofolliculomas is important as they can resemble more serious skin cancers, which can help avoid unnecessary surgeries.

Sebaceous trichofolliculoma is a rare skin tumor, typically presenting as a single lesion, with one documented case occurring on the scrotum.
The patient in this case had multiple small soft nodules on the scrotum that gradually increased in size and number over several years.
Histological analysis revealed large cysts connected to sebaceous glands, and surgical intervention, including excision or skin grafting, is planned for treatment.

- Folliculosebaceous cystic hamartoma (FSCH) is a rare skin condition linked to abnormal hair follicle and sebaceous gland development, sometimes observed alongside Miescher-type melanocytic nevi (MMCNs).
- A study at Nippon Medical School analyzed 7,829 cases of MMCNs and found that 3% of them also showed features of FSCH, with the nose being the most common site for these occurrences.
- The likelihood of having FSCH features with nevi increases with age, especially in seborrheic areas like the nose, indicating that certain nevi may contribute to the formation of FSCH or similar skin lesions.
