While several studies have documented protein losing enteropathy by measuring the excretion of intravenously administered 131I- or 51Cr-labeled albumin, the efficacy of 99mTc-labeled albumin in detecting protein loss in the bowel has not been described. We report here a case of severe protein-losing enteropathy demonstrated by abnormal excretion of 99mTc albumin into the bowel.

Objectives: This study investigated the longitudinal changes in ventricular function and atrioventricular valve function to clarify the timing and the mechanisms of failing Fontan.
Methods: Patients who underwent total cavopulmonary connection between 1994 and 2023 were reviewed, and longitudinal echocardiographic examinations of ventricular function and atrioventricular valve regurgitation were analyzed.
Results: A total of 650 patients were included.

Background: The discussion of Fontan fenestration is difficult because many institutions have different strategies over time. In our institute, we performed a non-fenestrated Fontan procedure for single-ventricular physiology as our definitive strategy.
Methods: Between August 1999 and December 2007, 72 consecutive patients with single-ventricle physiology underwent extracardiac total cavopulmonary connection without fenestration as our definitive strategy.

Background: A subgroup of CHDs can only be treated palliatively through a Fontan circulation. In case of a failing Fontan situation, serum proteins are lost unspecifically and can also lead to a loss of vaccine antibodies. In a failing Fontan situation, heart transplantation may be the only feasible option.

Lymphoma is the most common neoplasia in the intestine of cats. According to ACVIM consensus statement, low-grade intestinal T-cell lymphoma (LGITCL) represents a monomorphic infiltration of the lamina propria or epithelium or both of cats with small, mature, neoplastic (clonal) T lymphocytes. Despite the importance as contributing factors of inheritance and environment in the pathogenesis of LGITCL, the chronic inflammatory status plays a fundamental role.
