Some of the patients with homonymous hemianopia are unaware of any visual defect, whereas others perceive this defect more of less consciously. Analysis of the CT scans of 41 cases showed that patients who are partially or fully aware of the hemianopia have purely occipital lesions. The patients who were not aware of the visual defect were found to have larger and more anteriorly situated lesions. Parietal lesions or lesions interrupting the associative pathways to the primary or secondary visual association cortex are considered to be responsible for the lack of awareness of the defect.

We present 2 cases of caseous mitral annulus calcification (MAC) in which one patient was asymptomatic whereas the second experienced left hemianopsia. Both patients underwent transthoracic and transesophageal echocardiography exams which revealed severe MAC with a mass consistent with caseous MAC. A mobile component of the caseous MAC was observed in the patient with left hemianopsia.

Background And Aims: For young children with intractable epilepsy caused by congenital abnormalities or acquired cortical lesions, pediatric hemispherectomy surgery (pHS) may offer the only path to seizure remediation. Although some sensory and motor outcomes of pHS are highly predictable, the long-term cognitive and functional sequelae of pHS are far more variable. With the aim of identifying potential post-pHS intervention targets, the current study examined daily executive functioning and self-awareness in adults with pHS and broadly intact cognitive outcomes (indicated by average or above performance on intelligence tests).

Objective: A Leonis Mova (LM; SB Kawasumi, Kanagawa, Japan), one of the steerable microcatheters, has a remote-controlled flexible catheter tip manipulated with a dial in the hand grip, which enables operators to overcome complicated branching in endovascular surgeries. We report a case of a pituitary tumor in which the LM worked effectively as a distal access catheter (DAC) in tumor embolization.

Case Presentation: A female patient in her 70s complained of bitemporal hemianopsia, and an MRI revealed a pituitary tumor that appeared hypervascular.
