Implantable cardioverter-defibrillators (ICDs) have demonstrated efficacy in the prevention of sudden cardiac death secondary to cardiac arrhythmias in eligible patients. Complications with the subcutaneous ICD (S-ICD) are rarer than with the transvenous ICD but do still exist. Our patient presented four weeks after the insertion of S-ICD with complaints of left shoulder pain radiating to the chest wall and swelling over the S-ICD site. He was initially treated for rotator cuff injury and subacromial impingement syndrome but upon obtaining chest radiography was found to have a lead displacement traversing the splenic flexure of the colon. The patient was managed by a treatment team involving cardiology, surgery, and infectious disease and underwent S-ICD removal, exploratory laparotomy with splenic flexure mobilization, and completion of a four-week antibiotic course ultimately leading to reimplantation of S-ICD.

Background: Finite element analysis (FEA) could advance the understanding of fracture fixation and guide the choice of surgical treatment. This study aimed to compare two internal fixation methods in the treatment of displaced proximal humeral fracture (PHF) through FEA.
Methods: Three-dimensional FEA model based on the left shoulder joint of a 67-year-old female patient with PHFs and osteoporosis was adopted, in order to analyze the fixation effect and load stress distribution of internal fixation plates with open reduction and intramedullary nails without opening the fracture in the treatment of Neer III-VI PHF.

Objective: By comparing the hip arthroplasty parameters planned with the AIHIP three-dimensional simulation surgery system, this study analyzes the accuracy of the new femoral-side "shoulder-to-shoulder" artificial anatomical marker positioning method in femoral-side prosthesis implantation and the prevention of leg length discrepancy in hip arthroplasty.
Methods: A retrospective collection of 47 patients who underwent initial total hip arthroplasty at our hospital from August 2020 to December 2022 and met the inclusion and exclusion criteria was used as the study subjects. The average age was 67.
Individuals with general anxiety disorder (GAD) have an impaired future-oriented processing and altered reward perception, which might involve the ventromedial prefrontal cortex (vmPFC) and dorsolateral prefrontal cortex (dlPFC). Twenty-nine adults with GAD performed the balloon analogue risk-taking task (BART) and delay discounting task (DDT) during five sessions of transcranial direct current stimulation (tDCS) with different stimulation conditions. The stimulation conditions were: anodal dlPFC (F3)/cathodal vmPFC (Fp2), anodal vmPFC (Fp2)/cathodal dlPFC (F3), anodal dlPFC (F3)/cathodal right shoulder, anodal vmPFC (Fp2)/cathodal left shoulder, and sham stimulation.

In this report, we present a case of a triple clavicle injury, acromioclavicular joint (ACJ) dislocation, a middle third clavicle fracture, and a sternoclavicular joint (SCJ) subluxation, and describe its successful surgical treatment. A 49-year-old female patient sustained a 3 m fall, resulting in direct trauma to her left shoulder. Initial radiographs and computed tomography (CT) scans revealed a displaced middle third clavicle fracture, a high-grade ACJ dislocation, and a posterior SCJ subluxation.

Pigmented villonodular synovitis (PVNS) is rare in the shoulder, with few descriptions in the literature. We present the case of a 58-year-old female patient with no history of trauma. The patient reported pain for 2 months with no limb irradiation and presented lifting strength loss and progressive limitation of active and passive mobility.
