We demonstrate transitional dimensionality of discrete diffraction in radial-elliptical photonic lattices. Varying the order, characteristic structure size, and ellipticity of the Mathieu beams used for the photonic lattices generation, we control the shape of discrete diffraction distribution over the combination of the radial direction with the circular, elliptic, or hyperbolic. We also investigate the transition from one-dimensional to two-dimensional discrete diffraction by varying the input probe beam position. The most pronounced discrete diffraction is observed along the crystal anisotropy direction.

The development of molecular species with switchable magnetic properties has been a long-standing challenge in chemistry. One approach involves binding an analyte, such as protons, to a compound to trigger a change in magnetism. Transition metal complexes have been targeted for this type of magnetic modulation because they can undergo changes in their spin states.

Understanding the impact of oxidative modification on protein structure and functions is essential for developing therapeutic strategies to combat macromolecular damage and cell death. However, selectively inducing oxidative modifications in proteins remains challenging. Herein we demonstrate that [V6O13{(OCH2)3CCH2OH}2]2- (V6-OH) hybrid metal-oxo cluster can be used for selective protein oxidative cleavage and modifications.

Metal complexes with tunable ligands play a crucial role in olefin polymerization and impart control over molecular weight, crystallinity, and stereoregularity. We report the single-step synthesis of imine-phenoxy ligands in excellent yields (81-93%). The identity of electronically tuned imine-phenoxy ligands was unambiguously ascertained by using a combination of spectroscopic and analytical methods.

In this study, we report the syntheses, crystal structures and magnetic properties of ternary copper(II) coordination compounds with l-homoserine (l-Hhser) and 1,10-phenanthroline (phen). Six new coordination compounds were obtained: [Cu(l-hser)(HO)(phen)]SO·5HO (), [Cu(μ-l-hser)(HO)(phen)][Cu(l-hser)(HO)(phen)](SO)∙12HO (), {[Cu(μ-l-hser)(HO)(phen)][Cu(μ-l-hser)(phen)]SO·6HO} (), {[Cu(μ-l-hser)(HO)(phen)]SO·3HO} (), [Cu(l-hser)(HO)(phen)][Cu(l-hser)(CHOH)(phen)]SO·4HO () and {[Cu(l-hser)(CHOH)(phen)][Cu(μ-l-hser)(phen)]SO·5CHOH} () It was shown that slight differences in water content in the synthetic mixtures highly influence the final product, so in some cases, two or three different products were obtained. The compounds were characterized by single-crystal X-ray diffraction and ESR spectroscopy.
