With the utilization of Fourier-transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy for a multitude of commercial applications, a robust methodology for designing, implementing, and servicing these systems in commercial settings is becoming increasingly paramount. Here we present a method allowing for the numerical evaluation of the interferogram signal in a FTIR spectroscopy system, in which the incident electric field can exhibit any arbitrary spectral content. The developed model assesses multiple internal reflections occurring within a beam splitter (BS) and compensating plate (CP), allows for the presence or absence of the CP, and obtains the interferogram in absolute units. The interferogram is evaluated for the representative scenarios of an incident electric field having a blackbody spectral distribution (interacting with a BS and CP composed of ) and a randomly chosen spectral distribution (interacting with a BS composed of ZnSe and no CP).

This study evaluates the efficacy of twin screw melt granulation (TSMG), and hot-melt extrusion (HME) techniques in enhancing the solubility and dissolution of simvastatin (SIM), a poorly water-soluble drug with low bioavailability. Additionally, the study explores the impact of binary polymer blends on the drug's miscibility, solubility, and in vitro release profile. SIM was processed with various polymeric combinations at a 30% / drug load, and a 1:1 ratio of binary polymer blends, including Soluplus (SOP), Kollidon K12 (K12), Kollidon VA64 (KVA), and Kollicoat IR (KIR).

Olmesartan medoxomil (OLM) is the prodrug of olmesartan, an angiotensin II type 1 receptor blocker that has antihypertensive and antioxidant activities and renal protective properties. It exhibits low water solubility, which leads to poor bioavailability and limits its clinical potential. To improve the solubility of OLM, a host-guest inclusion complex (IC) between heptakis(2,6-di-O-methyl)-β-cyclodextrin (DMβCD) and the drug substance was obtained.

This study explores the development and characterization of spray-dried composite microparticles consisting of levofloxacin (LVX, a broad-spectrum antibiotic), and ambroxol (AMB, a mucolytic agent that has antibacterial and antibiofilm properties), for the intended application of the drug against lower respiratory tract infections (LRTIs). A range of LVX to AMB mass ratios (1:1, 1:0.5, and 1:0.
