A simple method of extraction and determination of organosilicon oxide polymers (silicones) in 0.1-0.5 g of formalin fixed tissue by atomic absorption spectroscopy is described. Before the tissue is extracted with n-heptane, it is dried in a desiccator containing concentrated sulphuric acid. The graphite tubes in the HGA graphite furnace are tubes with L'vov platform. The evaporation of n-heptane and a part of the charing of the tissue extract in the tube are done in the presence of oxygen (air). The significance of the employment of L'vov platform and the presence of oxygen are discussed. The methods detection limit (2 X S.D.) is about 0.009 microgram silicon/ml tissue extract which corresponds to about 0.5 microgram polydimethylsiloxane/g tissue.

Recently, nickel catalysts have garnered considerable attention for their efficacy and versatility in asymmetric catalysis, attributed to their distinctive properties. However, the use of cost-effective and sustainable divalent nickel catalysts in C-H activation/asymmetric alkene insertion poses significant challenges due to the intricate control of stereochemistry in the transformation of the tetracoordinate C-Ni(II) intermediate. Herein, we report a Ni(II)-catalyzed enantioselective C-H/N-H annulation with oxabicyclic alkenes.

Chiral binaphthols (BINOL)-metal combinations serve as powerful catalysts in asymmetric synthesis. Their chiral induction mode, however, typically relies on multifarious non-covalent interactions between the substrate and the BINOL ligand. In this work, we demonstrate that the chiral-at-metal stereoinduction mode could serve as an alternative mechanism for BINOL-metal catalysis, based on mechanistic studies of BINOL-aluminum-catalyzed asymmetric hydroboration of heteroaryl ketones.

High-temperature phosphorescence (HTP) materials have attracted considerable attention owing to their expanded application prospects, whereas they still suffer from severe deactivation in polar media, limiting their reliability and utility. Here, we present an efficient multivalent assembly strategy to achieve high-temperature liquid-phase phosphorescence (HTLP). The supramolecular assembly of multivalent modules leads to extremely robust hydrogen-bonding networks, which firmly immobilize the organic phosphors and protect triplet excitons from annihilation in high-temperature polar media, resulting in excellent HTLP emission.

This review discusses the key factors influencing the exceptional thermal resistance and surface properties of silicone-containing composites. Silicone polymers, known for their excellent chemical and physical properties, are widely used in a number of innovative products. In order to make silicone composites suitable for innovative applications, it is essential to ensure that they have both very good thermal resistance and superhydrophobic properties.

Until now, mass spectrometry databases lack molecular information of most organosilicon oligomers, and risk models needing accurate molecular descriptors are unavailable for these emerging contaminants with thousands of monomers. To address this issue, based on molecular/fragment ions and relative abundance from GC-Orbitrap-MS, this study developed appropriate classification (accuracies = 0.750-0.
