A fluorescent capillary sensor for detecting the bioanalytically and biologically relevant analytes pH, O, and CO has been designed. The sensor is based on single capillary tube with 2 mm inner diameter, which is simultaneous doped with emissive O-sensitive indicator Ru(dpp)(PF6) (RuDP), pH-sensitive and CO-sensitive indicator 8-hydroxypyrene-1, 3,6-trisulfonic acid trisodium salt (HPTS). The multifunctional sensor can be excited at the same wavelength and realize multi-parameter optical monitoring at the different sensing position. Studies in phosphate-buffered solutions display the excellent feasibility of the capillary sensor for fluorescence detection of pH, O, and CO. Overall, the multifunctional capillary sensor exhibits great potential in real-time blood gas analysis, and clinical application of multi-parameter biological detection.

Pyrethroid pesticides are essential for modern agriculture, helping to control pests and protect crops. However, due to growing concerns about their potential impact on human health and the environment, reliable detection methods are essential to ensure food safety. In this literature review, we explore the techniques used over the past decade to detect pyrethroid residues in agricultural products.

The review focuses on the design of detection cells, the use of microcontrollers for processing and evaluation of the detection signal, and the development of multi-detection systems for electromigration, liquid chromatography, flow-through and microfluidic techniques. A separate section is the introduction of modern 3D printing techniques and the use of new printing materials for the design of multidetection systems. In addition to traditional utilisation in separation techniques, new versions of contactless conductivity detectors are finding applications in FIA, SIA, portable and paper based analytical systems or as independent sensors.

The monitoring of peripheral circulation, as indicated by the capillary refill time, is a sensitive and accurate method of assessing the microcirculatory status of the body. It is a widely used tool for the evaluation of critically ill patients, the guidance of therapeutic interventions, and the assessment of prognosis. In recent years, there has been a growing emphasis on microcirculation monitoring which has led to an increased focus on capillary refill time.

Diabetes is known to reduce blood circulation in capillaries and arterioles; however, no devices can easily measure this on a daily basis. In this study, we developed a tool for measuring finger photoplethysmograms using green light and near-infrared LEDs. Thereafter, photoplethysmography was conducted on 25 inpatients/outpatients with diabetes and 21 adult males and females who had not been diagnosed with or treated for diabetes, hypertension, or cardiovascular disease (control group).
