The instrumentation of a giant loop antenna dedicated to environmental measurement, on a unique scientific site and intended to be open to the scientific community is presented. An open-source, low-cost electronic system has been designed, developed, and deployed in order to meet the need for reliability and flexibility imposed respectively by the harsh environment and the scientific objectives. The system's architecture is based on the simultaneous association of five Arduino boards piloted together by a Raspberry Pi which also controls the measurement devices. The setup is therefore automated, pilotable, and remotely reprogrammable. Special attention was paid to its hardware and software reliability. These have been proven efficient over more than two years of operation. Several scientific conference publications have already proven the feasibility of the measurement principle (Dezord et al., 2021; Dezord et al., 2022; Dezord et al., 2022). This article gives previously unpublished details regarding the electronic setup.

In radio frequency identification (RFID), differences in spectrum policies and tag misreading in different countries are the two main issues that limit its application. To solve these problems, this article proposes a composite right/left-handed transmission line (CRLH-TL)-based reconfigurable antenna for ultra-high frequency near-field and far-field RFID reader applications. The CRLH-TL is achieved using a periodically capacitive gap-loaded parallel plate line.

In this paper, a miniaturized 2 × 2 MIMO dual-wideband ground radiation antenna targeting Wi-Fi 6/6E/7 standards using 2.4 GHz, 5 GHz, and 6 GHz frequency bands with sufficient antenna performance was designed. The proposed antenna system contains four identical 4 mm × 6 mm antennas of the internal loop type and two identical 6 mm × 6 mm isolators containing lumped LC elements.

Low-temperature scanning tunneling spectroscopy is a key method to probe electronic and magnetic properties down to the atomic scale, but suffers from extreme vibrational sensitivity. This makes it challenging to employ closed-cycle cooling with its required pulse-type vibrational excitations, albeit this is mandatory to avoid helium losses for counteracting the continuously raising helium prices. Here, we describe a compact ultra-high vacuum scanning tunneling microscope (STM) system with an integrated primary pulse tube cooler (PTC) for closed-cycle operation.

Purpose: To address the issue of RF-induced heating for partially in and partially out (PIPO) medical devices during 1.5 T MRI scans by proposing a method of minimizing the external portion.
Methods: A method of tightly winding the external segment of the PIPO device is proposed to minimize the overall device effective reception length during MRI scans to mitigate the RF-induced heating.

Very low frequency electromagnetic waves adeptly propagate in harsh cross-medium environments, surmounting the rapid attenuation that impedes high-frequency counterparts. Traditional low frequency antennas, however, encounter challenges concerning size, efficiency, and power. Here, an isolation transformer based very low frequency loop antenna with compact size and well impedance matching is proposed to enhance radiation characteristics for long-distance communication.
