Mobility impairments and participation restrictions are common occurrences post-stroke, which may necessitate the need to utilize Assistive Technology (AT). This study investigated the prevalence, pattern, and satisfaction with AT utilization in stroke survivors (SS). The study was conducted in two hospitals in Kano, Nigeria. The QUBEC user evaluation of satisfaction with AT (QUEST) questionnaire and the Rivermead Mobility Index were used to assess satisfaction with AT utilization and mobility, respectively. Pearson correlation and independent t-test were used to determine the relationship and gender difference among the outcomes, respectively. A total of 280 SS participated; however, only 115 (41.07%) were AT users. The commonly used AT was wheelchair 84 (73%), while the least used was walking frame 3 (2.6%). About two-thirds of the participants were quite or very satisfied with their ATs. The duration of AT utilization is positively related to stroke duration ( = 0.940) but negatively related to mobility level (= -0.246). There is no significant gender difference in duration and satisfaction with AT utilization. AT like wheelchairs seems uncommonly utilized among SS in Kano, Nigeria, likely due to patients' lack of knowledge of use, economic factors, and culture among others.

The microdata set from the 2020 Life Satisfaction Survey conducted by the Turkish Statistical Institute was utilized, involving 1,863 individuals aged 60 and above. The relationship between happiness levels and various factors was investigated using the chi-square independence test, and the factors affecting happiness were further analyzed through generalized ordered logistic regression.

Materials And Methods: VIEWER is an open-source and extensible toolkit that employs natural language processing and interactive visualization techniques to facilitate the rapid design, development, and deployment of clinical information retrieval, analysis, and visualization at the point of care. Through an iterative and collaborative participatory design approach, VIEWER was designed and implemented in one of the United Kingdom's largest National Health Services mental health Trusts, where its clinical utility and effectiveness were assessed using both quantitative and qualitative methods.

Emerging research indicates that dehumanization may occur in couples with serious consequences; however, this research is in its infancy, and there is a need to integrate dehumanization perspectives with key theories of intimate relationships to best understand this phenomenon. Drawing on work on individuation in couples, we present an integrated framework of dehumanizing deindividuation that is characterized by derogation (viewing a partner with contempt), disregard (ignoring or overlooking a partner), and denial of autonomy (restricting a partner's self-determination). We present data from two samples highlighting the reliability and validity of a new measure, the Dehumanizing Deindividuation in Couples (DDC) scale, which was internally consistent and had excellent construct replicability.
