NiO/ZnO composite derived metal-organic framework (MOF) is used as to modify carbon felt (CF) via a conventional solid-state reaction followed by ultrasonication. The prepared electrode material is used in zinc-hybrid redox flow batteries (RFBs) due to their high redox activity of Zn /Zn. The electrochemical performance of composite modified CF and pre-treated CF was studied by cyclic voltammetry (CV) in 0.5 M aqueous zinc chloride with 5 M potassium hydroxide solutions showed clear confirmation for enhanced electrocatalytic activity. The unique porous structure of NiO/ZnO-derived MOF with increased surface area improves the battery behavior significantlyThe peak current ratio for the as-prepared material is about 3 times higher than that of the pre-treated CF due to more active sites. Zinc-based RFB with modified CF electrode exhibited better electrochemical performance with voltage efficiency (VE, 88 %), which is higher than true redox flow batteries.

Previous studies suggest that ferroptosis is involved in cardiovascular diseases. The aim of the present study is to investigate the causal relationship between angiotensin II type 1 and type 2 receptors (ATR) activities and mitochondrial dysfunction in induction of cardiomyocyte ferroptosis. Human AC16 cardiomyocytes were first pre-treated with an ATR blockers, before stimulated with angiotensin II (Ang II) for 24 h.

Redox-active micelles undergo reversible association and dissociation in response to their redox potential and are promising materials for various applications, such as drug delivery and bioimaging. Evaluation of the micellization entropy is critical in controlling the thermodynamics of micelle formation. However, conventional methods such as isothermal titration calorimetry and surface tensiometry require a long measurement time to observe changes in the heat flow or the surface tension caused by the micellization.

Understanding drought resistance mechanisms is crucial for breeding poplar species suited to arid and semi-arid regions. This study explored the drought responses of three newly developed 'Zhongxiong' series poplars using integrated transcriptomic and physiological analyses. Under drought stress, poplar leaves showed significant changes in differentially expressed genes (DEGs) linked to photosynthesis-related pathways, including photosynthesis-antenna proteins and carbon fixation, indicating impaired photosynthetic function and carbon assimilation.

To investigate the impact of the oxidation temperature and variations in airflow conditions on coal spontaneous combustion characteristics, pre-oxidized coal samples were prepared using a programmed temperature rise method. Synchronous thermal analysis experiments and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy were conducted to explore changes in the thermal effects and functional group content of the coal samples, respectively. The results indicate that variations in pre-oxidation conditions primarily in fluence the activation temperature and maximum weight loss temperature of the coal samples, while exerting a lesser impact on the critical temperature and ignition point.
