Dipartimento Scienze Della Salute, Università degli Studi di Genova, Genova, Italy.
Aim(s): To adapt and validate the HSOPS 2 instrument for the Italian context and to describe the current patient safety culture amongst healthcare personnel working in Italian hospitals.
Design: Cross-sectional study.
Methods: We adapted and validated the HSOPS 2 instrument following the COSMIN guidelines: we performed a forward-backward translation, calculated the content validity index, evaluated face validity, acceptability (percentage of participants responding to all items on the questionnaire and to every specific item), construct validity (confirmatory factor analysis), and internal consistency (Cronbach's alpha for each dimension).

The contamination of water systems by antibiotics such as ciprofloxacin (CIP), which is used to treat bacterial infections, poses severe risks to environmental safety and public health. To address this issue, a novel zwitterionic polymeric nanocomposite (PNs-HTC) was developed in this study. This novel material was synthesized using alkylated chitosan ionic macromonomers, ionic monomers and combined with hydrotalcite (HTC) via in situ free radical polymerization.

There is a much debate regarding optimal selection in patients with metastatic cancer who should undergo local treatment (surgery or radiation treatment) to the primary tumor and/or metastases. Additionally, the optimal treatment of newly diagnosed metastatic cancer is largely unclear. Current prognostication systems to best inform these clinical scenarios are limited, as all metastatic patients are grouped together as having Stage IV disease without further incorporation of patient and disease-specific covariates that significantly impact patient outcomes.

This study aimed to examine the impact of robotic surgery on POPF in high-risk patients after pancreatoduodenectomy (PD).
Methods: This retrospective analysis included 204 patients who underwent RPD between January 2018 and June 2023.

Nursing Science Program, School of Nursing, Vanderbilt University, Nashville, TN.
Background: Racism in nursing is a significant issue affecting patient safety, nurse well-being, and job performance.
Purpose: Explore racial microaggression experiences of registered nurses working in a children's hospital.
Methods: An exploratory, qualitative research design with in-depth interviews was used to collect data.
