Background: The current study examined the accuracy of casts generated using direct impression processes with and without splints for multiple dental implants utilizing two different splinting materials and impression materials.

Materials And Methods: Dental replacement base intensity alleviating acrylic tar was used to create a reference model of a mandible with four inserts (Uniti, Equinox, D-3.7 mm, and L-13 mm) in the front. Polyether and polyvinyle siloxane impression materials were used to make impressions of the reference model utilizing direct non-splinted and splinted techniques.

Results: Polyether impression material was found to produce more accurate impressions than polyvinyl siloxane, and impressions made using transfer copings splinted with pattern resins were found to be more accurate than those made using either unsplinted copings or copings splinted with light-cured wax resin.

Conclusions: All six impression techniques resulted in casts that were different from the reference model. Next, the polyether-splinted (SPR) technique is the nonsplinted technique employing polyether and polyvinyle siloxane imprint materials, and then, the splinted techniques using polyether and polyvinyle siloxane and produced the most accurate casts in comparison with the reference model.

Improving Understanding of Fexofenadine Pharmacokinetics to Assess Pgp Phenotypic Activity in Older Adult Patients Using Population Pharmacokinetic Modeling.

Clin Pharmacokinet

January 2025

Clinical Pharmacology and Toxicology Service, Anesthesiology, Pharmacology and Intensive Care Department, Geneva University Hospitals, 4 Rue Gabrielle Perret-Gentil, 1205, Geneva, Switzerland.

Background And Objective: Fexofenadine is commonly used as a probe substrate to assess P-glycoprotein (Pgp) activity. While its use in healthy volunteers is well documented, data in older adult and polymorbid patients are lacking. Age- and disease-related physiological changes are expected to affect the pharmacokinetics of fexofenadine.

Detecting Hemorrhagic Myocardial Infarction With 3.0-T CMR: Insights Into Spatial Manifestation, Time-Dependence, and Optimal Acquisitions.

JACC Cardiovasc Imaging

January 2025

Department of Radiology and Imaging Sciences and Krannert Cardiovascular Research Center, Indiana University School of Medicine, Indianapolis, Indiana, USA. Electronic address:

Background: Hemorrhagic myocardial infarction (hMI) can rapidly diminish the benefits of reperfusion therapy and direct the heart toward chronic heart failure. T2∗ cardiac magnetic resonance (CMR) is the reference standard for detecting hMI. However, the lack of clarity around the earliest time point for detection, time-dependent changes in hemorrhage volume, and the optimal methods for detection can limit the development of strategies to manage hMI.

LC-MS/MS Analyzing Praziquantel and 4-Hydroxypraziquantel Enantiomers in Black Goat Plasma and Mechanism of Stereoselective Pharmacokinetics.

Biomed Chromatogr

February 2025

Guangdong Provincial key Laboratory of Veterinary Pharmaceutics Development and Safety Evaluation, South China Agricultural University, Guangzhou, China.

Praziquantel (PZQ) is the most effective treatment for schistosomiasis, commonly administered as a racemic mixture of the two enantiomers. Despite many reports on the pharmacokinetics of PZQ, the stereoselective pharmacokinetics of PZQ and its major metabolite 4-hydroxypraziquantel (4-OH-PZQ) remain poorly understood in goats. In this study, the chiral LC-MS/MS method was further optimized for separating and quantifying PZQ, trans-4-OH-PZQ, and cis-4-OH-PZQ and their enantiomers and then applied for the molecular pharmacokinetics of three analytes in black goat plasma.

Aims: This study investigated the association between maternal age and early and late gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM).

Methods: In total, 72,270 pregnant women were included in this prospective birth cohort study. Associations between maternal age and early GDM (diagnosed at <24 gestational weeks) and late GDM (diagnosed at ≥24 gestational weeks) were evaluated using a multinomial logistic regression model with possible confounding factors.
