The title com-pound, CHNO·2CHOS, which is of inter-est with respect to its biological activity, at 183 K has ortho-rhom-bic (222) crystal symmetry. The structure displays a network of inter-molecular N-H⋯N, N-H⋯O and O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds. 2'-De-oxy-guanosine mol-ecules are linked to each other and to the two dimethyl sulfoxide solvent mol-ecules by hydrogen bonding.

Nitrogen@Carbon quantum dots (N@CQDs) are prepared using microwave hydrothermal method, and polyvinylpyrrolidone (PVP) and melamine are used as mixed C source and N source. Microwave reaction conditions of preparing the N@CQDs are 170 ℃ and 3 h. This N@CQDs are are used as fluorescence probe for detection of amino acids.

This study systematically investigated the effect of organic solvent addition on the detection signal intensity of 15 organic pesticides in water using ultra-high-performance liquid chromatography-electrospray ionization-tandem mass spectrometry (UHPLC-ESI-MS/MS). The analysis of chromatographic peak area ratios in ultrapure water (UPW) versus 30% methanol (MeOH)-UPW showed that the adsorption effects (AEs, mainly from injection vials with weaker polarity) were the main factor influencing the detection intensity of the organic pesticides. The AEs varied with pesticide type and concentration, especially for those with high logK values and longer retention times, such as malathion, triadimefon, prometryn, S-metolachlor, diazinon, and profenofos.

Palladium-Catalyzed Tandem Reaction of β-Ketonitriles with Arylboronic Acids and Dimethyl Sulfoxide: Application to Multicomponent Synthesis of Poly-Substituted Pyridines.

State Key Laboratory of Macromolecular Drugs and Large-Scale Manufacturing, School of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Wenzhou Medical University, Wenzhou 325035, P. R. China.

The Pd-catalyzed multicomponent tandem reaction of β-ketonitriles, arylboronic acids and DMSO was efficiently developed, enabling access to a variety of poly substituted pyridines. The protocol shows excellent chemoselectivity, generating nicotinonitriles or symmetrical tetrasubstituted pyridines under different conditions by tandem cyclization of enaminone intermediates with β-ketonitriles or enolates, respectively, and does not require extra ammonias. This method boasts notable advantages, such as the use of commercially available or easily prepared substrates, simple conditions, a broad substrate scope, and good functional group tolerance.

Nonylphenol (NP) is a ubiquitous environmental endocrine disrupting chemical and oxidative stress inducer in biological systems. Resveratrol (RES) and Naringenin (NG) are phytochemicals possessing antioxidant properties and estrogenic activity. This study was conducted to investigate the toxicity of NP and the mitigating effects of RES and NG on NP toxicity in rats.

Excited-state proton transfer (ESPT) in organic photoacids is a widely studied phenomenon in which D-luciferin is of special mention, considering the fact that apart from its phenolic OH group, the nitrogen atoms at either of the two thiazole moieties could also participate in hydrogen bonding interactions with a proton-donating solvent during ESPT. As a result, several transient species could appear during the ESPT process. We hereby deploy subpicosecond time-resolved fluorescence upconversion (FLUP) and transient absorption (TA) spectroscopic techniques to understand the detailed photophysics of D-luciferin in water as well as in dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO) and ethanol.
