To investigate the acquisition and relatedness of New Delhi Metallo-beta-lactamase among multiple separate species from one patient. Five isolates from three species (Pseudomonas aeruginosa; Pa, Acinetobacter baumannii; Ab and Proteus mirabilis; Pm) suspected of harbouring a carbapenemase were investigated by phenotype (antimicrobial susceptibilities) and whole genome sequencing. Epidemiological data was collected on this patient. Three different carbapenemase genes were detected; bla (Pa; ST773), bla (Ab, ST499) and bla identified in all isolates. NDM regions were found chromosomally integrated in all isolates. Data showed no evidence of NDM-1 transfer within this patient suggesting the enzyme was acquired in three separate events.

The photoinduced reaction of [Pt(NO)] with pyridine or its derivatives (L) was found to result in the formation of [PtL](NO) salts in high yield. This transformation was successfully probed for methyl- and carboxyethyl-substituted pyridines, and the corresponding [PtL](NO) salts were isolated and fully characterized using single-crystal X-ray diffraction (SCXRD). Anation of the [Pt(py)] cationic complex with N was studied by H NMR spectroscopy in aqueous and water/dimethyl sulfoxide solutions of [Pt(py)](NO).

Combination therapy, which synergistically enhances treatment efficacy and inhibits disease progression through the combined effects of multiple drugs, has emerged as a mainstream approach for treating complex diseases and alleviating symptoms. However, drug-drug interactions (DDIs) can sometimes lead to adverse reactions, potentially endangering lives. Therefore, developing efficient and accurate DDI prediction methods is crucial for elucidating drug mechanisms and preventing side effects.

Purpose: Sleep (SL), physical activity (PA), and wellbeing (WB) are three factors linked to positive development in adolescence. Despite theoretical support and some empirical evidence of developmental associations between these factors, few studies have rigorously investigated reciprocal associations over time separating between-person and within-person effects, and none have investigated all three in concert. Thus, it remains unclear how the interplay between SL, PA and WB unfolds across time within individuals.

The nutria (Myocastor coypus) is a semiaquatic rodent that originally inhabited South America. However, the animals have spread to different continents as alien species, and their numbers are quickly increasing, especially in North America, Europe, and Eastern Asia including Japan. Although nutrias have been suggested to serve as reservoirs for pathogens, including parasites, there have been few reports on this subject.

Incorporating Perineorrhaphy into the LeFort Colpocleisis: A Modified Surgical Approach.

Int Urogynecol J

January 2025

Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology and Reproductive Sciences, Yale School of Medicine, 333 Cedar Street, New Haven, CT, 06511, USA.

Introduction And Hypothesis: Perineorrhaphy with levator myorrhaphy is considered a standard part of colpocleisis. Typically, this is done through a separate incision after colpocleisis is completed. We present a video to demonstrate a modified approach to LeFort colpocleisis incorporating perineorrhaphy into the procedure.
