Two-dimensional nanomaterials (2D NMs), consisting of atoms or a near-atomic thickness with infinite transverse dimensions, possess unique structures, excellent physical properties, and tunable surface chemistry. They exhibit significant potential for development in the fields of sensing, renewable energy, and catalysis. This paper presents a comprehensive overview of the latest research findings on the preparation and application of 2D NMs. First, the article introduces the common synthesis methods of 2D NMs from both "top-down" and "bottom-up" perspectives, including mechanical exfoliation, ultrasonic-assisted liquid-phase exfoliation, ion intercalation, chemical vapor deposition, and hydrothermal techniques. In terms of the applications of 2D NMs, this study focuses on their potential in gas sensing, lithium-ion batteries, photodetection, electromagnetic wave absorption, photocatalysis, and electrocatalysis. Additionally, based on existing research, the article looks forward to the future development trends and possible challenges of 2D NMs. The significance of this work lies in its systematic summary of the recent advancements in the preparation methods and applications of 2D NMs.

Mass spectrometry imaging (MSI) serves as a valuable tool enabling researchers to scrutinize various compounds, peptides, and proteins within a sample, providing detailed insights at both elemental and molecular levels. This innovative technology transforms information obtained from a mass spectrometer- encompassing ionic strength, mass-to-charge ratio, and ionized molecule coordinates-within a defined region into a pixel-based model. Consequently, it reconstructs the spatial distribution of ions, allowing for a comprehensive understanding of molecular landscapes.

Sample pretreatment for mass spectrometry (MS)-based metabolomics and lipidomics is normally conducted independently with two sample aliquots and separate matrix cleanup procedures, making the two-step process sample-intensive and time-consuming. Herein, we introduce a high-throughput pretreatment workflow for integrated nontargeted metabolomics and lipidomics leveraging the enhanced matrix removal (EMR)-lipid microelution 96-well plates. The EMR-lipid technique was innovatively employed to effectively separate and isolate non-lipid small metabolites and lipids in sequence using significantly reduced sample amounts and organic solvents.

Objectives: Chat Generative Pre-Trained Transformer (ChatGPT) is a popular natural-language processor that is able to analyze and respond to a variety of prompts, providing eloquent answers based on a collection of Internet data. ChatGPT has been considered an avenue for the education of resident physicians in the form of board preparation in the contemporary literature, where it has been applied against board study material across multiple medical specialties. The purpose of our study was to evaluate the performance of ChatGPT on the Personal Review of Learning in Obstetrics and Gynecology (PROLOG) assessments and gauge its specialty specific knowledge for educational applications.

Growth-plate (GP) injures in limbs and other sites can impair GP function and cause deceleration of bone growth, leading to progressive bone lengthening imbalance, deformities and/or physical discomfort, decreased motion and pain. At present, surgical interventions are the only means available to correct these conditions by suppressing the GP activity in the unaffected limb and/or other bones in the ipsilateral region. Here, we aimed to develop a pharmacologic treatment of GP growth imbalance that involves local application of nanoparticles-based controlled release of a selective retinoic acid nuclear receptor gamma (RARγ) agonist drug.

An enzyme with strong single-stranded DNA (ssDNA) ligation activity would be advantageous for many molecular biology applications. However, currently available enzymes exhibit only limited activity. Here, we identified an enzyme with strong ssDNA ligation activity upon searching the databases for proteins homologous to TS2126 RNA ligase, the known enzyme with the highest yet limited ssDNA ligation activity.
