The human milk trisaccharide 3'- sialyllactose was reacted with an excess of N-methyl-O-benzylhydroxylamine (MBHA) and the product 3'- sialyllactose-MBHA was isolated in high (91%) yield by solid-phase extraction. The isomeric trisaccharide 6'-sialyllactose-MBHA was also prepared, in this case by enzymatic sialylation of lactose-MBHA. A 50/50 mixture of the two sialyllactose-MBHA derivatives was easily separated by reversed-phase HPLC. The free oligosaccharides were recovered from their respective MBHA derivatives by acid hydrolysis.

Colorectal cancer (CRC) development is a gradual process in which progressive histological alterations of the intestinal mucosa damage occur over years. This process can be influenced by modifiable external factors such as lifestyle and diet. Most CRC cases (>80%) originate from conventional adenomas through the adenomatous pathway and usually harbour dysplastic cells, whereas the serrated pathway is less frequent (<20% cases) and comprises hyperplastic polyps and other polyps containing dysplastic cells.

Hydrophobicity is associated with drug transport across membranes and is expressed as the partition coefficient log P for neutral drugs and the distribution coefficient log D for acidic and basic drugs. The log P and log D predictions are deductively (or with artificial intelligence) estimated as the sum of the partial contributions of the scaffold and substituents of a single molecule and are used widely and affirmatively. However, their predictions have not always been comprehensively accurate beyond scaffold differences.

This study introduces an innovative bio-based sorbent bead crafted by integrating chitosan (CS) biopolymers, Fe(NO3)3 and polydopamine nanoparticles (PDA NPs) via glutaraldehyde crosslinking. The primary focus of this study was the concurrent separation of diverse tetracycline antibiotics (TCs), followed by rigorous reversed-phase liquid chromatography analysis. The fabricated CS/Fe@PDA sorbent beads were comprehensively characterized using scanning electron microscopy and energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy, revealing a surface rich in active carbon (C), nitrogen (N), and oxygen (O) moieties.

Addressing the global challenge of ensuring access to safe drinking water, especially in developing countries, demands cost-effective, eco-friendly, and readily available technologies. The persistence, toxicity, and bioaccumulation potential of organic pollutants arising from various human activities pose substantial hurdles. While high-performance liquid chromatography coupled with high-resolution mass spectrometry (HPLC-HRMS) is a widely utilized technique for identifying pollutants in water, the multitude of structures for a single elemental composition complicates structural identification.

The research is aimed at exploring the potential of marigold petal tea (MPT), rich in polyphenol contents, against oxidative stress and obesity in a rat model following a high-fat-sugar diet (HFSD). The MPT was prepared through the customary method of decoction and was subjected to analysis for its polyphenol composition using reversed-phase high-performance liquid chromatography (RP-HPLC). Two specific doses of MPT, namely, 250 and 500 mg/kg body weight (BW), were chosen for the study-referred to as MPT-250 and MPT-500, respectively.
