Feces is one quick way to determine the health status of the birds and farmers rely on years of experience as well as professionals to identify and diagnose poultry diseases. Most often, farmers lose their flocks as a result of delayed diagnosis or a lack of trustworthy experts. Prevalent diseases affecting poultry birds may be quickly noticed from image of poultry bird's droppings using artificial intelligence based on computer vision and image analysis. This paper provides description of a dataset of both healthy and unhealthy poultry fecal imagery captured from selected poultry farms in south-west of Nigeria using smartphone camera. The dataset was collected at different times of the day to account for variability in light intensity and can be applied in machine learning models development for abnormality detection in poultry farms. The dataset collected is 19,155 images; however, after preprocessing which encompasses cleaning, segmentation and removal of duplicates, the data strength is 14,618 labeled images. Each image is 100 by 100 pixels size in jpeg format. Additionally, computer vision applications like picture segmentation, object detection, and classification can be supported by the dataset. This dataset's creation is intended to aid in the creation of comprehensive tools that will aid farmers and agricultural extension agents in managing poultry farms in an effort to minimize loss and, as a result, optimize profit as well as the sustainability of protein sources.

Coccidiosis is caused by apicomplexan parasites of the genus Eimeria, which infect epithelial cells of the intestinal tract causing diarrhea and negatively impacting production in the poultry industry. The self-limiting and highly immunogenic nature of infection by Eimeria spp. make live vaccination an effective means of coccidiosis control.

Chicken meat production in organic systems involves free-range access where animals can express foraging and locomotor behaviours. These behaviours may promote outdoor feed intake, but at the same time energy expenditure when exploring the outdoor area. More generally, the relationship of range use with metabolism, welfare including health, growth performance and meat quality needs to be better understood.

The transcriptional regulation of gene expression in the latter stages of follicular development in laying hen ovarian follicles is not well understood. Although differentially expressed genes (DEGs) have been identified in pre-recruitment and pre-ovulatory stages, the master regulators driving these DEGs remain unknown. This study addresses this knowledge gap by utilizing Master Regulator Analysis (MRA) combined with the Algorithm for the Reconstruction of Accurate Cellular Networks (ARACNe) for the first time in laying hen research to identify master regulators that are controlling DEGs in pre-recruitment and pre-ovulatory phases.

Avian influenza viruses are ubiquitous in the Anatinae subfamily of aquatic birds and occasionally spill over to poultry. Infection with low pathogenicity avian influenza viruses generally leads to subclinical or mild clinical disease. In contrast, highly pathogenic avian influenza viruses emerge from low pathogenic forms and can cause severe disease associated with extraordinarily high mortality rates.

In order to provide a low-cost, high efficient, and highly accurate tool for molecular breeding of Jiaji ducks, we constructed a cGPS(Genotyping by Pinpoint Sequencing of captured targets) 20 K liquid-phase microarray using resequencing data from this valuable poultry breed for the first time. The microarray contains 20,327 high-quality snp loci, mainly from the 30 Jiaji duck resequencing samples collected in this study, and some loci were supplemented from the 135 duck resequencing data from KUNMING INSTITUTE OF ZOOLOGY.CAS.
