Performing automatic and standardized 4D TEE segmentation and mitral valve analysis is challenging due to the limitations of echocardiography and the scarcity of manually annotated 4D images. This work proposes a semi-supervised training strategy using pseudo labelling for MV segmentation in 4D TEE; it employs a Teacher-Student framework to ensure reliable pseudo-label generation. 120 4D TEE recordings from 60 candidates for MV repair are used.

Here, we present a protocol for conditional mutagenesis in zebrafish germ cells using Tol2 transposon and a CRISPR-Cas9-based plasmid system. We describe steps for conditional mutagenesis plasmid construction, zebrafish embryo microinjection, and screening for green fluorescence in the heart. This protocol is simple to execute, time efficient, and multifunctional, enabling the disruption of genes in zebrafish germ cells to be conducted with ease.

Purpose: To implement a flexible framework, named HydrOptiFrame, for the design and optimization of time-efficient water-excitation (WE) RF pulses using B-spline interpolation, and to characterize their lipid suppression performance.
Methods: An evolutionary optimization algorithm was used to design WE RF pulses. The algorithm minimizes a composite loss function that quantifies the fat-water contrast using Bloch equation simulations.

fetal circulatory characteristics differ from those after birth; the right ventricle assumes more than 60% of the workload in the systemic circulation before birth. The right ventricle automated myocardial performance index (AM+MPI) is a simple, time-efficient, and stable assessment method used to evaluate overall cardiac function. This study aimed to apply the right ventricle AM+MPI technique to explore its role in normal mid-to-late pregnancy fetal cardiac function and compare the AM+MPI differences between diabetic and normal fetuses.

Background/purpose: High doses to healthy cardiac substructures (CS) in stereotactic arrhythmia radioablation (STAR) raise concerns regarding potential treatment-induced cardio-toxicity. However, CS contours are not routinely created, hindering the understanding of the CS dose-effect relationships. To address this issue, the alignment of CS contouring was initiated within the STOPSTORM consortium.
