Tomato fruit ripening is a complex physiological process that involves morphological, anatomical, biochemical, and molecular alterations. One of these changes occurring during ripening is the softening of the fruit, which is attributed to modifications in the biosynthesis and degradation of individual cell wall components, i.e.

Acupuncture, a therapeutic practice rooted in traditional Chinese medicine and integrated with modern neuroscience, achieves its effects by stimulating sensory nerves at specific anatomical points known as acupoints. This review systematically explores the therapeutic components of acupuncture, emphasizing the interplay between sensory nerve characteristics and neural signaling pathways. Key factors such as acupoint location, needling depth, stimulation intensity, retention time, and the induction of sensations (e.

Contusive and compressive spinal cord injury (SCI) induces pathological changes to spinal cord white matter (WM) including periaxonal swelling and resultant disruption of the axomyelinic interface, axonal swelling/spheroid formation, and secondary axonal transection. To further our knowledge of the role of vascular edema in these pathological changes to WM, we designed, and three-dimensional (3D) printed a dual-compartment imaging chamber separated by a semipermeable membrane to mimic and manipulate interstitial and vascular fluid compartments in real time. We hypothesized that hypertonic saline (HTS) applied to the "vascular" chamber would osmotically shift fluid out of the periaxonal space and preserve myelinated fibers after SCI.

Robots are becoming increasingly essential for traversing complex environments such as disaster areas, extraterrestrial terrains, and marine environments. Yet, their potential is often limited by mobility and adaptability constraints. In nature, various animals have evolved finely tuned designs and anatomical features that enable efficient locomotion in diverse environments.

Wooden breast (WB) is a multifactorial muscular abnormality resulting from the interplay between genetic predispositions for rapid growth, physiological stress, and anatomical impairments. This myopathy has been a persistent challenge in the poultry industry since its initial identification a decade ago. WB negatively impacts meat quality, leading to increased toughness and reduced nutritional value.
