The genus (yews) is the largest genus of the family Taxaceae. It comprises about 24 species with 55 varieties distributed mainly in Asia, Europe, North Africa, and North America. In addition to the taxane diterpenoids and the cancer drug taxol, its species contain many essential oils with actual or potential biological activity. This review covers the chemical constituents as well as biological activities of these oils that have been studied in fourteen countries over 46 years (1975-2021). It also discusses the biotic and abiotic factors that limit the regeneration of these economically and medicinally important plants.

Cannabis inflorescences represent an important source of many high-value bioactive specialized metabolites, among which the family of terpenes or terpenoids that are the largest classes of natural products known. Besides their biological activities either alone or synergistic with other terpenoids and/or cannabinoids, they are responsible for their distinctive flavour. In this study, we exploited the separation power and identification capabilities of comprehensive two-dimensional gas chromatography coupled to mass spectrometry (GC×GC-MS) for the profiling of terpenes and terpenoids in cannabis inflorescences.

While the content of subjective (personal) experience is inaccessible to external observers, behavioral proxies can frame the nature of that experience and suggest its cognitive requirements. Directed attention is widely recognized as a feature of animal awareness. This descriptive study used the frequency of gaze shifts in lizards and birds as an indicator of the rate at which the animals change the perceptual segmentation of their ongoing experience.

Although peptide vaccines offer a novel venue for cancer immunotherapy, clinical success has been rather limited. Cell-penetrating peptides, due to their ability to translocate through the cell membrane, could be conjugated to the peptide vaccine to2 enhance therapeutic efficiency. The S4 transduction domain of the shaker-potassium channel was conjugated to mammaglobin-A (MamA) immunodominant epitope (MamA2.
