Introduction: The introduction of invasive species into an ecosystem could result in biodiversity loss and the spread of infectious agents that could cause re-emergent or emergent zoonotic diseases. Monk parakeets () and rose-ringed parakeets () are considered widespread invasive exotic species in urban habitats from the Iberian Peninsula. The aim of this study was to assess the presence of relevant infectious agents in wild parakeets captured in urban parks in Madrid and Seville (Spain).
Methods: A total of 81 cloacal samples were collected and analysed using molecular techniques.
Results: The prevalence of infectious agents varied between parakeet species: 9.5% of monk parakeets and 15% of rose-ringed parakeets were positive for enteropathogenic (EPEC), 13.3% of rose-ringed parakeets for avian influenza virus (AIV), 3.3% of rose-ringed parakeets for Newcastle disease virus (NDV), and a 23.8% of monk parakeets for .
Discussion: All -identified isolates were classified as B, E, or E/B genotypes, indicating transmission from wild urban pigeons to parakeets. These results highlight the need for monitoring parakeet populations due to the implications for human and animal health.

Introduction: Adults with relapsed or refractory Philadelphia chromosome-positive B-cell precursor acute lymphoblastic leukaemia (R/R Ph+ BCP-ALL) have a dismal outcome. Blinatumomab as a single agent has shown activity in R/R Ph- BCP-ALL, and second or third-generation tyrosine kinase inhibitors (TKIs) can produce high remission rates in Ph+ leukaemias. We aimed to assess the activity of blinatumomab and TKI in combination with intensive chemotherapy in the relapsed or refractory setting.

, the causative agent of Legionnaires' disease, interacts in the environment with free-living amoebae that serve as replicative niches for the bacteria. Among these amoebae, is a natural host in water networks and a model commonly used to study the interaction between and its host. However, certain crucial aspects of this interaction remain unclear.

The morbidity and mortality of sepsis remain high. Clinicians lack effective markers to rapidly diagnose sepsis and identify the underlying pathogen infection particularly for patients with candidaemia or cases of culture-negative sepsis where culture-based diagnostics are inadequate. In our search for new lines of potential sepsis biomarkers, we here explore the impact of various classes of infectious agents on the serum -glycome in a septic shock cohort.

Purpose: The research intended to present prospective data on the long-term prognosis of individuals with hepatitis C virus (HCV) infection who received direct-acting antiviral agent (DAA) treatment.
Patients And Methods: Patients who received DAA treatment at Tianjin Third Central Hospital and Tianjin Second People's Hospital were prospectively enrolled and subsequently underwent a longitudinal follow-up. This research monitored occurrences of virological relapse, hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), mortality, and liver disease progression.

Dairy cows with clinical ketosis (CK) exhibit metabolic changes, including intense adipose tissue (AT) lipolysis and systemic insulin resistance, that increase plasma BHB and free fatty acids (FFA). Cows with CK also have systemic inflammation, predisposing them to inflammatory and infectious diseases. This inflammatory process is modulated in part by oxidized fatty acids (oxylipins) that regulate all aspects of inflammation.
