A new photoelectrochemical immunoassay based on self-assembled p-n AgO@BiOS nanoflower heterojunction was designed and developed for quantitative monitoring of prostate-specific antigen (PSA) in biological fluids. Primarily, self-assembled p-n AgO@BiOS nanoflower heterojunctions were served as the photoactive materials and coated onto the surface of electrodes. Subsequently, the glucose oxidase (GOx) was bound to the detection antibody (mAb) labeled gold nanoparticles (Au NPs) and then were employed to accomplish a sandwich-like immunoreaction to generate HO on a microplate incubated with monoclonal anti-PSA antibodies. In the presence of PSA, the product (HO) was catalyzed by the substrate, which was used as an electron sacrificial agent to improve signal conversion and capture of photogenerated electrons. Under optimum conditions, a wide linear range of 0.01-50 ng mL and a low detection limit of 5.3 pg mL were accomplished with the sensor, exhibiting an excellent photocurrent response. Moreover, the proposed sensor revealed satisfactory reproducibility, high selectivity, and acceptable accuracy for the real sample testing. Importantly, our work provides a novel strategy for high sensitivity detection of disease-associated biomarkers for the early diagnosis of cancers.

We report the synthesis and comprehensive characterization of organic-inorganic hybrid salts formed by bis-cationic bis(2-(trimethylammonium)ethylene)perylene-3,4,9,10-tetracarboxylic acid bisimide (PTCD) and Keggin-type [XWO] (X = Si, = 4; X = P, = 3) polyoxometalates. (PTCD)[PWO]·3DMSO·2HO () and (PTCD)[SiWO]·DMSO·2HO () were structurally characterized by single crystal X-ray diffraction. The cations in both structures exhibited infinite chainlike arrangements through π-π interactions, contrasting with the previously reported cation-anion stacking observed in naphthalene diimide derivatives.

In this work, block copolymer lithography and ultralow energy ion implantation are combined to obtain nanovolumes with high concentrations of phosphorus atoms periodically disposed over a macroscopic area in a p-type silicon substrate. The high dose of implanted dopants grants a local amorphization of the silicon substrate. In this condition, phosphorus is activated by solid phase epitaxial regrowth (SPER) of the implanted region with a relatively low temperature thermal treatment preventing diffusion of phosphorus atoms and preserving their spatial localization.

Colloidal-free screen-printed p-n BiOCl/BiFeO heterojunctions are successfully synthesized to achieve photocatalytic degradation of Rhodamine B (RhB) using visible light ( ≥ 400 nm). The crystalline structure of dense BiOCl nanosheets self-assembled with impressive aspect ratio atop BFO powders is confirmed by XRD, Raman and TEM measurements. Iron impurities inside these 10 ± 2 nm-thick BiOCl nanosheets increase visible light absorption.

February 2022

Jiangsu Key Laboratory of Advanced Catalytic Materials and Technology, Advanced Catalysis and Green Manufacturing Collaborative Innovation Center, Changzhou University, Changzhou 213164, PR China.

Photocatalytic CO reduction to carbon fuels is regarded as an ideal and sustainable way to provide clean energy and solve environmental crisis. Herein, a p-n CoO/TiO heterojunction photocatalyst was synthesized by one-step pyrolysis of self-assembly ZIF-67/MIL-125, which was used in photocatalytic CO reduction for the first time. CoO nanocages were highly dispersed on the surface of TiO nanoplates with an intimate contact.
