Innovation in green technology is an efficient approach to reducing carbon emissions and achieving energy conservation, which is essential for fostering sustainable and green economic development. Even though the development of eco-friendly technologies is accelerating, the grasp of how political ties affect firms' adoption of green technologies remains hazy. This paper examines the effect of a firm's total political embeddedness (government ownership and political connections) along with the influencing mechanisms by employing a panel fixed effect regression approach on a dataset of Chinese A-share enterprises operating in pollution-intensive industries spanning 2012 to 2021. The findings offer conclusive evidence that political embeddedness encourages the enterprises' development of green technologies and boosts their output of innovation. In addition, mechanism analysis reveals that companies' political embedding influences their green innovation behavior through environmental disclosure. Moreover, board gender diversity and company growth rate are found to reinforce the impact of political embeddedness on green innovation. Besides expanding the current research on green innovation and corporate political involvement, the findings also provide important policy recommendations for the sustainable development of companies in emerging markets.

Constructing a built-in electric field (BIEF) within heterostructures has emerged as a compelling strategy for advancing electrocatalytic oxygen evolution reaction (OER) performance. Herein, the p-n type nanosheet array heterojunction NiP-NCDs-Co(OH)-NF are successfully prepared. The variation in interaction affinity between nitrogen within N-doped carbon dots (NCDs) and Ni/Co induces charge redistribution between Co and Ni in the NiP-NCDs-Co(OH)-NF-3 heterostructure, thereby enhancing the intensity of the BIEF, facilitating electron transfer, and markedly improving OER activity.

Introduction: The development of efficient and sustainable catalytic methodolo-gies has garnered considerable attention in contemporary organic synthesis.
Methods: Herein, we present a novel approach employing the Cu@DPP-SPION catalyst for the synthesis of ethyl 4-(aryl)-6-methyl-2-thioxo-1,2,3,4-tetrahydropyrimidine-5-carboxylate derivatives. This versatile catalytic system incorporates copper nanoparticles supported on 4-(1H-imidazo[4,5-f][1,10]phenanthrolin-2-yl)benzoic acid-functionalized superparamagnetic iron oxide nanoparticles (SPIONs).

Achieving ultrahigh permeance and superoleophobicity is crucial for membrane application. Here, we demonstrated that a poly(ionic liquid)/PES hydrogel membrane can achieve dual goals. The high polarity of the ionic liquids induces the water molecules on the membrane surface to be arranged more ordered, as verified by molecular dynamics (MD) simulation and advanced femtosecond sum frequency generation (SFG) vibrational spectroscopy.

This article aims to provide a systematic review of the literature on animal biomass and biogas plants through an analysis of externalities and benefits in economic, social, and environmental terms. In recent years, the spread of biogas plants has played an important role, especially in rural areas, generating benefits not only for the individual farm but for entire communities, contributing to the reduction of energy poverty and, at the same time, promoting the production of energy and organic manure. In light of the findings, the study argues that: (a) more public subsidies are needed; (b) the deployment of an appropriate policy mix would encourage the spread of small and medium-sized plants, with a reduction in road transport; and (c) targeted and diversified investments are needed on a geographic-by-geographic basis.

Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation (TENS) and Electronic Muscle Stimulation (EMS) are non-invasive therapies widely used for pain relief and neuromuscular adaptation. However, the clinical research supporting the efficacy of TENS in chronic pain management is limited by significant methodological flaws, including small sample sizes and inconsistent reporting of stimulation parameters. TENS modulates pain perception through various techniques, targeting specific nerve fibers and pain pathways.
