Acorn ( CARR.) has been used in traditional food and medicinal ethnopharmacology in Asia, and it has shown multifarious functions such as antidementia, antiobesity, and antiasthma functions. However, there is limited scientific evidence about the efficacy of acorn for ameliorating skin problems. Treatment with ethanol-extracted acorns (s) ablated the expression of inducible nitric oxide synthase (iNOS), cyclooxygenase 2 (COX2), monocyte chemoattractant protein-1 (MCP-1), and interleukin (IL)-8 stimulated by tumor necrosis factor (TNF)- in human adult low calcium high temperature (HaCaT) cells under sublethal dosages. In addition, treatment with dose dependently inhibited the hyper keratin formation induced by TNF- in HaCaT cells in conjunction with the blockade of cytokeratin-1 (CK-1) and cytokeratin-5 (CK-5) expression. Moreover, treatment stimulated the expression of hyaluronic acid (HA) expression in human fibroblasts in a dose-dependent manner. Linoleamide was identified as the functional component of using preparative high-performance liquid chromatography and ultra high performance liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry-mass spectrometry analysis, and the anti-inflammatory features and enhanced HA expression were verified. Collectively, these results suggest the efficacy of supplementation in improving skin problems anti-inflammation and upregulating HA production.

Intricate crosstalk among various lung cell types is crucial for orchestrating diverse physiological processes. Traditional two-dimensional and recent three-dimensional (3D) assay platforms fail to precisely replicate these complex communications. Many lung models do not effectively reflect the multicellular complexity of lung tissue.

Background: Myoepithelial carcinoma is a very rare yet aggressive tumor in children. Surgical intervention and local radiotherapy often lead to post-therapy complications, affecting both the aesthetic and functional quality of life in survivors. Hyaluronic acid (HA) dermal fillers offer a minimally invasive option to improve the appearance and quality of life for these patients once they are declared tumor-free.

Amniotic epithelial stem cells (AEC) hold potential for tissue regeneration, especially through their conditioned medium (AEC-CM) due to their immunomodulatory and regenerative effects. Nevertheless, advanced drug delivery systems such as hydrogels are needed to enable clinical applications. Herein, an gellable hyaluronic acid and polyethylene glycol-based iEDDA-cross-linked hydrogel was developed for the encapsulation and controlled release of AEC-CM.

Exosomes as a unique drug delivery system provide a new choice for tumor therapy. However, the in vitro functionalization of exosomes and the process of circulating drug delivery can easily cause exosome degradation and drug loss, thus reducing the efficiency of drug delivery. In this work, based on the endocyto-fusion-exocytosis pathway of exosome formation, a multifunctional hyaluronic acid nanogel loaded with the antiangiogenic drug vatalanib and the near-infrared photothermal agent indocyanine green (ICG) was designed.

Hyaluronic acid (HA) exhibits various biological activities and functions, mainly governed by its molecular weight (M). Traditional HA degradation methods encounter challenges such as environmental pollution and high costs. Thus, developing a safe cell factory with an efficient regulation strategy for one-step production of specific M HA has attracted significant research interest.
