Background: Iliac vein compression syndrome (IVCS) impedes venous blood return from the lower extremities due to iliac vein compression, manifesting as leg swelling, varicose veins, and thrombosis. These symptoms significantly degrade quality of life. Although iliac vein stenting provides symptomatic relief, the recovery process is protracted and fraught with challenges such as in-stent restenosis and psychological distress.

Acute ischemic stroke with large vessel occlusion (LVO) continues to present a considerable challenge to global health, marked by substantial morbidity and mortality rates. Although definitive diagnostic markers exist in the form of neuroimaging, their expense, limited availability, and potential for diagnostic delay can often result in missed opportunities for life-saving interventions. Despite several past attempts, research efforts to date have been fraught with challenges likely due to multiple factors, such as the inclusion of diverse stroke types, variable onset intervals, differing pathobiologies, and a range of infarct sizes, all contributing to inconsistent circulating biomarker levels.

Recent advancements in microRNAs (miRNAs) research have revealed their key roles in both normal physiological processes and pathological conditions, leading to potential applications in diagnostics and therapeutics. However, the path forward is fraught with several scientific and technical challenges. This review article briefly explores the milestones of the discovery, biogenesis, functions, and application for clinical diagnostic and therapeutic strategies of miRNAs.

In the UK, the Recommended Summary Plan for Emergency Care and Treatment (ReSPECT) is a widely used process, designed to facilitate shared decision-making between a clinician and a patient or, if the patient lacks capacity to participate in the conversation, a person close to the patient. A key outcome of the ReSPECT process is a set of recommendations, recorded on the patient-held ReSPECT form, that reflect the conversation. In an emergency, these recommendations are intended to inform clinical decision-making, and thereby enable the attending clinician-usually a general practitioner (GP) or paramedic-to act in the patient's best interests.

Underwater environmental exploration using sensor nodes has emerged as a critical endeavor fraught with challenges such as localization errors, energy, and costs attributed to the dynamic nature of underwater environments. This paper proposes a KNN-based cost-efficient machine-learning algorithm aimed at optimizing underwater context acquisition with sensor nodes. By addressing existing localization challenges, the algorithm minimizes localization errors, energy consumption and Time costs while significantly enhancing localization accuracy to 99.
