Organ failure (OF) is a sinister development in the clinical course of acute pancreatitis, and its prediction is crucial for triaging the patient. Persistent systemic inflammatory response syndrome and raised interleukin-6 levels have a good predictive accuracy. Pathophysiology involves the release of damage-associated molecular patterns as a consequence of pancreatic injury, recruitment of inflammatory cells, and the release of proinflammatory cytokines and chemokines causing cytokine storm.

Background: The Naples prognostic score (NPS), a novel nutritional and inflammatory index, holds great promise for predicting the prognosis of heart failure (HF), but research on its association with HF outcomes is limited.
Objective: To analyze the relationship between the NPS and the incidence rate and long-term prognosis of HF.
Methods: Participants from the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES) data were allocated into three groups (group 0 (the NPS=0), group 1-2 (the NPS=1-2), and group 3-4 (the NPS=3-4)) based on the NPS level.

Premature infants born less than 32 weeks gestation with evolving or established BPD initiated on invasive or non-invasive (NIV) NAVA were included. Respiratory data: PCO and SpO₂/FiO₂ (S/F) ratio before and at 4, 24, 48 h post-NAVA initiation were collected.

Intracranial complications of otitis media are rare but pose a significant risk of morbidity and mortality. We report a case of a 27-year-old man with cognitive impairment who presented with fever, right-sided otalgia, otorrhea, and vomiting for three days. His neurological examination was unremarkable, and a brain computed tomography (CT) revealed right-sided otomastoiditis without intraparenchymal lesions.
