Introduction: Chronic kidney disease-associated pruritus (CKD-aP) is a common, yet underdiagnosed condition among patients on hemodialysis. Considering the lack of established treatment pathways, we sought to evaluate the use of antidepressant, systemic antihistamines, or gabapentinoid medications among patients with CKD-aP in the year following pruritus assessment.
Methods: We included 6209 patients on hemodialysis in the analysis.

Purpose: Perinatal hypoxic-ischemic encephalopathy (HIE) is a significant cause of neonatal brain injury. Therapeutic hypothermia (TH) is the standard treatment for term neonates, but its safety and efficacy in neonates < 36 weeks gestational age (GA) remains unclear. This case series aimed to evaluate the outcomes of preterm infants with HIE treated with TH.

Complex functional materials are characterized by intricate and competing bond orders, making them an excellent platform for evaluating the newly developed strongly constrained and appropriately normed (SCAN) density functional. In this study, we explore the effectiveness of SCAN in simulating the electronic properties of displacive ferroelectrics (BaTiO3 and PbTiO3) and magnetoelectric multiferroics (BiFeO3 and YMnO3), which encompass a broad spectrum of bonding characteristics. Due to a significant reduction in self-interaction error, SCAN manifests its improvements over the Perdew-Burke-Ernzerhof (PBE) method in three aspects: SCAN predicts more accurate ionicity, produces more compact orbitals, and better captures d-orbital anisotropy.

Background: This systematic review and meta-analysis investigated the relationship between somatic oncogenic variants and prognosis, specifically with overall survival (OS) and progression-free survival (PFS) in patients diagnosed with supratentorial glioblastoma.
Methods: We included longitudinal studies and clinical trials involving a minimum of 40 adult participants diagnosed with supratentorial glioblastoma, wherein the status of variants was assessed. We conducted searches in multiple databases.

Purpose: To investigate the predictive value of 2-[18F]-fluoro-2-deoxy-D-glucose ([F]FDG) PET/CT for evaluating primary tumor (PT) and lymph node (LN) responses after neoadjuvant programmed death-ligand 1 (PD-L1) blockade monotherapy in patients with locally advanced esophageal squamous cell carcinoma (LA-ESCC).
Methods: In the single-arm phase 1b NATION-1907 trial (NCT04215471), 23 patients with LA-ESCC received two cycles of neoadjuvant PD-L1 blockade Adebrelimab followed by surgery. Among these, 18 patients underwent [F]FDG PET/CT scans both before immunotherapy and prior to surgery.
