Trichoscopic Findings Post Hair Restoration Surgery.

Skin Appendage Disord

Clínica Bloch, Hair Restoration, São Paulo, Brazil.

Published: August 2023

Introduction: Trichoscopy is a noninvasive diagnostic method for hair and scalp diseases. Data on trichoscopy post hair restoration surgery are limited, and some authors show no relevant changes.

Case Presentation: Trichoscopic findings in 45 patients are described, after being followed for 12 months after hair restoration surgery. They evolved without any hair disease.

Conclusion: Trichoscopy showed some hair shaft abnormalities previously described in alopecia areata and chemotherapy-induced alopecia.

Mutations in the gene cause the most common form of human hereditary hearing loss, known as DFNB1. is expressed in two cell groups of the cochlea-epithelial cells of the organ of Corti and fibrocytes of the inner sulcus and lateral wall-but not by sensory hair cells or neurons. Attempts to treat mouse models of DFNB1 with AAV vectors mediating nonspecific expression have not substantially restored function, perhaps because inappropriate expression in hair cells and neurons could compromise their electrical activity.

Background: Exosomes are small extracellular vesicles (30-150 nm in size) that play a critical role in cellular communication, transporting proteins, lipids, and nucleic acids between cells. This literature review focuses on evaluating the potential benefits and limitations of exosomes in enhancing skin health and aesthetics through indications such as skin rejuvenation, hair restoration, and pigmentation disorders.

Methods: A thorough literature search was conducted on PubMed using specific MeSH, including "exosomes," "aesthetics," "cosmetic dermatology," "skin rejuvenation," "hair growth," and "wrinkle reduction.

Deafness is the most common form of sensory impairment in humans and frequently caused by defects in hair cells of the inner ear. Here we demonstrate that in male mice which model recessive non-syndromic deafness (DFNB6), inactivation of Tmie in hair cells disrupts gene expression in the neurons that innervate them. This includes genes regulating axonal pathfinding and synaptogenesis, two processes that are disrupted in the inner ear of the mutant mice.

Resveratrol-Loaded Versatile Nanovesicle for Alopecia Therapy via Comprehensive Strategies.

Introduction: Alopecia is a systemic disease with multiple contributing factors. Effective treatment is challenging when only hair growth mechanisms are targeted while ignoring the role of maintaining hair follicle microenvironment homeostasis, which is crucial for cell growth and angiogenesis. Oxidative stress and inflammation are major disruptors of this microenvironment, leading to inhibited cell proliferation and compromised hair follicle circulation.
