The application of ionic liquid electrolytes in ultrafast supercapacitors to achieve wide electrochemical operating windows and high electrochemical stability is highly applauded. However, the strong Coulomb interaction between ions leads to the overscreening effect and slow establishment process of the electrical double layer (EDL), which deteriorates the rate performance of supercapacitors. Herein, inspired by Coulomb's law and EDL transient dynamics, we introduce competitive hydrogen bond interactions into typical ionic-liquid electrolytes to weaken the Coulomb interaction between ions.

Metal tellurides, known for their superior electrical conductivity and excellent electrochemical properties, are promising candidates for supercapacitor applications. This study introduces a novel method involving a metal-organic framework hybrid to synthesize CoTe@CoFeTe double-shelled nanocubes. Initially, zeolitic imidazolate framework-67 (ZIF67) and CoFe Prussian blue analog (PBA) nanocubes are synthesized through an anion-exchange reaction with [Fe(CN)] ions.

Electrochromic (EC) materials based on ion insertion/desertion mechanisms provide a possibility for energy storage. Solution-processable energy storage EC polyamides have great potential for use in smart displays and EC supercapacitors. A suitable monomer structure design is particularly important for enhancing the electrochemical properties of polyamides.

Extensively explored for their distinctive pseudocapacitance characteristics, MXenes, a distinguished group of 2D materials, have led to remarkable achievements, particularly in the realm of energy storage devices. This work presents an innovative Pseudocapacitive Sensor. The key lies in switching the energy storage kinetics from pseudocapacitor to electrical double layer capacitor by employing the change of local pH (-log[H]) in MXene-based flexible supercapacitors during bending.

MXenes possess high metallic conductivity and excellent dispersion quality and pseudocapcitance. Their good hydrophilicity makes them particularly suitable as eco-friendly inks for printing applications. However, MXenes are prone to oxidization in aqueous dispersions, and it is very important to improve their stability.
