An automated program to calculate life tables of cumulative patency on a personal computer is described. This program can be set up quickly, and the tables can be displayed graphically and are automatically updated as new information is added.

Introduction: The high demands and current working conditions of nursing professionals who work in intensive care units' impact both their quality of life and their intention to rotate, and these in turn impact the quality of care.
Objective: Identify the relationship between quality of Work Life (QWL) and the intention to rotate and/or leave the organization of nursing profession in intensive care units.
Method: Analytical cross-sectional observational study with 101 nursing professionals (NP) working in adult intensive care with more than one year of experience in the area.

Background And Method: This study set out to identify the factors and combinations of factors associated with the individual's premature death, using data from the Finnish Longitudinal Study on Ageing Municipal Employees (FLAME) which involved 6,257 participants over a 29-year follow-up period. Exact dates of death were obtained from the Finnish population register. Premature death was defined as a death occurring earlier than the age- and sex-specific actuarial life expectancy indicated by life tables for 1981, as the baseline, with the threshold period of nine months.
