Background: Many schools around the world involuntarily began remote learning in March of 2020 as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, which brought immediate changes and challenges to teaching and learning that are likely to influence student achievement into the foreseeable future. While large numbers of students face difficulties in learning to read under typical conditions, remote learning resulted in substantial deficits in reading outcomes.
Aims: This study aimed to examine the relative impact of the pandemic on reading performance in United States (U.S.) for students with and without disabilities.
Methods: and procedure: In this interpretive analysis, we compared the progress of a large sample of students (n = 219,500) by using the National Assessment of Educational Progress (NAEP) data, in two grade levels (Grades 4 and 8), with and without disabilities, at two time points (2019 and 2022).
Outcomes And Results: Statistically significant decreases were identified on the reading outcomes of students in U.S. Students without disabilities experienced a significant decrease in their reading outcomes pre- and post-pandemic, compared to students with disabilities (SWDs).
Conclusions And Implications: We discuss the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic on students' reading performance and the implications for effective reading instructions in the future.

Following a gluten-free diet (GFD) is known as the main effective therapy available for celiac disease (CD) patients, which in some cases is not enough to heal all patients presentations completely. Accordingly, emerging researchers have focused on finding novel therapeutic/preventive strategies for this disorder. Moreover, previous studies have shown that celiac patients, especially untreated subjects, are at increased risk of developing viral and bacterial infections, which can become a challenge for the clinician.

The purpose is to contribute to the growing body of literature on mental health among racialized frontline healthcare workers in Canada by investigating factors that affect mental health and barriers associated with accessing services and supports among Filipino healthcare workers in Ontario, Canada. The study employed a cross-sectional qualitative descriptive design to identify strategies that Filipino frontline healthcare workers use to effectively cope with mental health issues, work stress, and structural and economic barriers to their well-being.

Background: Reliable gender-sensitive normative data is needed to facilitate mental health research and clinical utility of commonly used symptoms scales. This study establishes Danish gender-stratified norms for the 53-item and 18-item Brief Symptom Inventory (BSI-53, BSI-18), proposed attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) symptomatology scales from the BSI-53, and the 10-item Symptom Checklist (SCL-10). This study also examines gender-differences in symptom reporting of the ADHD and SCL-10 scales, and assesses potential bias in recent SCL-10 norms.
