Novel Cerium-Based p-Dopants with Low Parasitic Absorption for Improved Organic Devices.

Adv Sci (Weinh)

February 2025

Dresden Integrated Center for Applied Physics and Photonic Materials (IAPP) and Institute of Applied Physics, Technische Universität Dresden, Nöthnitzer Straße 61, 01187, Dresden, Germany.

High electrical conductivity and improved charge carrier injection enabled by molecular doping are pivotal for high-performance, energy-efficient, and stable organic optoelectronic devices. Molecular doping is a key element in device design and manufacturing of active-matrix organic light-emitting diode displays, a multi-billion dollar market. However, it is an inherent feature of state-of-the-art small molecule dopants and their charge-transfer complexes to strongly absorb in the visible and near-infrared spectral range.

Entertainment robotics has garnered significant attention in recent years, with researchers focusing on developing robots capable of performing a variety of tasks, including magic, drawing, dancing, and music. This article presents our research on forming a musical band that includes both humanoid robots and human musicians, with the goal of achieving natural synchronization and collaboration during musical performances. We utilized two of our humanoid robots for this project: Polaris, a mid-sized humanoid robot, as the drummer, and Oscar, a Robotis-OP3 humanoid robot, as the keyboardist.

A considerable amount of work has been carried out on the biology of learning and memory acquisition, and retention [1-6]; however, little is known regarding how the information is written in the brain [7-9]. It is notable that in the Neuron Theory postulated by Santiago Ramón y Cajal [10], neurons were conceived to form a contiguous instead of a continuous structure. They were physically separated but could function through their connections by synapses [11].

The rising popularity of wearable activity tracking devices can be attributed to their capacity for gathering and analysing ambient data, which finds utility across numerous applications. In this study, a wearable activity tracking device is developed using the BBC micro:bit development board to identify basic bachata dance steps. Initially, a pair of smart ankle bracelets is crafted, employing the BBC micro:bit board equipped with a built-in accelerometer sensor and a Bluetooth module for transmitting accelerometer data to smartphones.

Background: With the continuous development of society and the economy, population aging has become an inevitable global development trend, triggering a series of social problems and having a more serious impact on the physical and mental health of middle-aged and older adults. Physical exercise is one of the key factors for improving the overall health and quality of life of individuals, but the role of square dance exercise and the quality of life of middle-aged and older adults have not yet been clarified.

Purpose: This study aimed to investigate the associations between square dance exercise and the quality of life of middle-aged and older adults and its mechanism of action, including its effects on physical health and mental health, with negative emotions and attitudes towards aging as mediating variables.
