The internal and external validity of cognitive disengagement syndrome (CDS) relative to attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder-inattention (ADHD-IN) was evaluated herein with Farsi-speaking adults. A total of 837 Iranian adults assessed throughout the whole country (54.72% women, M = 23.85; SD = 7.05; age range = 18 to 58 years; 75% between 18 and 24 years old; reporting higher educational training) completed self-report measures of CDS, ADHD-IN, ADHD-hyperactivity/impulsivity (HI), depression, anxiety, and stress. Seven of the fifteen CDS symptoms showed a good convergent (high loadings on the CDS factor) and discriminant (higher loadings on the CDS factor than the ADHD-IN factor) validity. CDS also showed stronger first-order and unique associations with depression than ADHD-IN, whereas ADHD-IN showed stronger first-order and unique associations with ADHD-HI and anxiety than CDS. The first-order and unique associations of CDS and ADHD-IN did not differ in relation to stress. This study is the first to support the validity of the self-report of assessing CDS symptoms with the Adult Concentration Inventory with Farsi-speaking individuals residing in Iran, thus further strengthening the transcultural validity of the CDS, and paving the way for further transcultural research in the field of CDS among adults.

Purpose: Voriconazole (VRC) is recommended for the prevention and treatment of invasive fungal infections in children undergoing hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (HSCT). It demonstrates nonlinear pharmacokinetics (PK) and exhibits substantial inter- and intraindividual variability. Phenytoin sodium (PHT) and methylprednisolone (MP) are commonly used in the early stages of HSCT to prevent epilepsy and graft-versus-host disease.

Regioselective Copolymerization of Glucose-Derived Allopyranoside Epoxide with Cyclic Anhydrides: Developing Precise Sugar-Functionalized Polyesters with Unique Altrose Linkages.

J Am Chem Soc

Polymer Synthesis Laboratory, Laboratory, Chemistry Program, KAUST Catalysis Center, Physical Sciences and Engineering Division, King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST), Thuwal 23955, Saudi Arabia.

Uniform sugar-functionalized polyesters combine the benefits of sugar's structural diversity, biocompatibility, and biodegradability with precise postfunctionalization capabilities, making them a highly valuable class of materials with extensive application potential. However, the irregular placement of hydroxyl groups has limited the synthesis of these polyesters. Here, we present the first platform for uniform sugar-functionalized polyesters via regioselective ring-opening copolymerizations (ROCOPs) of allopyranoside anhydrosugar epoxide (, derived from d-glucose) with cyclic anhydrides, followed by complete selective deprotection.

Article Synopsis
  • Frequent itemset mining (FIM) is crucial for association rule mining but is computationally challenging, especially with large and dense datasets.
  • Researchers have developed various methods to approximate itemset support using small subsets of data to maintain both efficiency and accuracy.
  • The new ProbDF algorithm optimizes memory use by discarding transaction data after determining small itemsets and utilizes a probabilistic support prediction model for larger itemsets, shown to improve performance in experiments.

Large Language Model Enhanced Logic Tensor Network for Stance Detection.

Neural Netw

November 2024

College of Big Data and Internet, Shenzhen Technology University, Shenzhen, China; Guangdong Key Laboratory for Intelligent Computation of Public Service Supply, China. Electronic address:

Social media platforms, rich in user-generated content, offer a unique perspective on public opinion, making stance detection an essential task in opinion mining. However, traditional deep neural networks for stance detection often suffer from limitations, including the requirement for large amounts of labeled data, uninterpretability of prediction results, and difficulty in incorporating human intentions and domain knowledge. This paper introduces the First-Order Logic Aggregated Reasoning framework (FOLAR), an innovative approach that integrates first-order logic (FOL) with large language models (LLMs) to enhance the interpretability and efficacy of stance detection.

Although the Child and Adolescent Behavior Inventory (CABI) cognitive disengagement syndrome (CDS) scale has demonstrated validity relative to the CABI attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder-inattention (ADHD-IN) scale with parent ratings of youth from North America, Europe, East Asia, and Central Asia, no study has evaluated the validity of the 15 symptom CDS scale with children from South America. Our purpose was to examine for the first time the validity of the CABI CDS scale with Brazilian children. Latent variable modeling procedures were used to examine the validity of CDS scores.
