Objectives: Angio-associated migratory cell protein (AAMP) is a protein that participates in cell migration and is reported to be involved in cancer progression. However, the molecular mechanism of AAMP in pan-cancer is not known.
Methods: We used multi-omics data, such as TIMER, TCGA, GTEx, CPTAC, HPA, and cBioPortal to analyze AAMP expression, and gene alteration in pan-cancer. Univariate Cox regression and Kaplan-Meier were utilized to explore prognostic significance of AAMP expression level. We applied Spearman analysis to investigate the correlation between AAMP and TMB, MSI, immune cell infiltration, immune checkpoints. Moreover, we mainly studied liver hepatocellular carcinoma(LIHC) to explore AAMP expression, clinical significance, and prognosis. Cox regression analysis was used to study independent factor to predict prognosis for AAMP in LIHC. GSEA was utilized to investigate the biological function for AAMP in LIHC.
Results: AAMP was overexpressed in most cancers, and high AAMP expression was associated with worse overall survival (OS), disease-specific survival (DSS), and progress-free interval (PFI) for LIHC and adrenocortical carcinoma (ACC). Moreover, AAMP had the highest mutation frequency in uterine corpus endometrial carcinoma (UCEC). AAMP was correlated with TMB and MSI in esophageal carcinoma (ESCA), stomach adenocarcinoma (STAD), lung squamous cell carcinoma (LUSC), and thyroid carcinoma (THCA). Then, we focus on LIHC to investigate the expression and prognosis of AAMP. AAMP overexpression was related to histological grade and pathological stage in LIHC. Multivariate Cox regression analysis revealed that AAMP overexpression was an independent adverse prognostic marker for LIHC. AAMP expression was correlated with immune cell infiltration and immune checkpoints in LIHC. Function enrichment analysis indicated the participation of AAMP in the cell cycle and DNA replication.
Conclusions: AAMP was a latent prognostic indicator for pan-cancer and had high potential as a biomarker for the diagnosis and prognosis of LIHC.

Numerous studies have demonstrated the involvement of messenger RNAs (mRNAs) and non-coding RNAs, including long non-coding RNAs (lncRNA), circular RNAs (circRNAs) and microRNA (miRNAs), in gouty arthritis onset; however, the regulatory mechanism has not yet been elucidated. Here, we applied whole-transcriptome sequencing to identify the differentially expressed circRNAs, lncRNAs, miRNAs and mRNAs between the gout patients and normal people, and constructed co-regulated networks of circRNAs and lncRNAs according to the competitive endogenous RNA (ceRNA) theory for gouty arthritis onset to improve our understanding of the pathogenesis of this disease. The most significant finding of this study is the co-regulated ceRNA network of circRNAs and lncRNAs in gouty arthritis.

Cell-cell adhesion in endothelial monolayers is tightly controlled and crucial for vascular integrity. Recently, we reported on the importance of fast protein turnover for maintenance of endothelial barrier function. Specifically, continuous ubiquitination and degradation of the Rho GTPase RhoB is crucial to preserve quiescent endothelial integrity.

The comparative analysis of the expression of the reactive oxygen species-generating NADPH oxidase NOX4 from TCGA data shows that the NOX4 transcript is upregulated in papillary thyroid carcinomas (PTC)-BRAF tumors compared to PTC-BRAF tumors. However, a comparative analysis of NOX4 at the protein level in malignant and non-malignant tumors is missing. We explored NOX4 protein expression by immunohistochemistry staining in malignant tumors (28 classical forms of PTC (C-PTC), 17 follicular variants of PTC (F-PTC), and three anaplastic thyroid carcinomas (ATCs)) and in non-malignant tumors (six lymphocytic thyroiditis, four Graves' disease, ten goiters, and 20 hyperplasias).

Identification of exosome-related genes (ERGs) and competing endogenous RNAs (ceRNAs) associated with intervertebral disc degeneration (IDD) may improve its diagnosis and reveal its underlying mechanisms. We downloaded 49 samples from Gene Expression Omnibus and identified candidate ERGs using differentially expressed ERGs (De-ERGs), exosome-related gene pairs (ERGPs), and machine learning algorithms [least absolute shrinkage and selection operator (LASSO) and support vector machine (SVM)]. Immune cell-related ERGs were selected immune-infiltration analysis, and clinical values were assessed using receiver operating characteristic curves.
