Glycans are essential to all scales of biology, with their intricate structures being crucial for their biological functions. The structural complexity of glycans is communicated through simplified and unified visual representations according to the Symbol Nomenclature for Glycans (SNFGs) guidelines adopted by the community. Here, we introduce GlycoDraw, a Python-native implementation for high-throughput generation of high-quality, SNFG-compliant glycan figures with flexible display options. GlycoDraw is released as part of our glycan analysis ecosystem, glycowork, facilitating integration into existing workflows by enabling fully automated annotation of glycan-related figures and thus assisting the analysis of e.g. differential abundance data or glycomics mass spectra.

Following an episode of sudden lethargy, an 18-month-old female black-capped parrot (Pionites melanocephalus) died while being examined. On gross examination, there was fluid within the coelom, hepatomegaly with yellow colouration and the heart appeared enlarged with pallor throughout the myocardium. On histological examination, cardiomyocytes were swollen with loss of cross striations and contained 6-12-μm diameter intrasarcoplasmic pale grey inclusions of storage material.

N-nitrosodimethylamine (NDMA) was determined using a molecularly imprinted polymer (MIP)-based electrochemical sensor. Green-synthesized silver nanoparticles were functionalized with cysteamine to enhance their integration into the electrode surface, which was used to modify a glassy carbon electrode (GCE). Furthermore, a MIP-based electrochemical sensor was constructed via electropolymerization of 3-aminophenyl boronic acid (3-APBA) as a conjugated functional monomer in the presence of lithium perchlorate (LiClO) solution as a dopant, chitosan as a carrier natural polymer, and NDMA as a template/target molecule.

(LRM), endemic to Northwest China, is known as hei goji or black goji and is renowned for its rich bioactive compounds. This review analyzes LRM's geographic distribution and traceability and highlights challenges and future developments in geographical traceability. The work also focuses on LRM's bioactive constituents, especially on anthocyanins and polysaccharides, demonstrating a clear clue for understanding their updated extraction methods, identification, and diverse bioactive activities, including antioxidation, anti-inflammation, and immunomodulation, which is beneficial to developing novel functional foods and new medical materials.

Microplastics (MPs) have been detected in the atmospheric and the human respiratory system, indicating that the respiratory tract is a significant exposure route for MPs. However, the effect of inhaled MPs on cognitive function has not been adequately studied. Here, a C57BL/6 J mouse model of inhalation exposure to polystyrene MPs (PS-MPs, 5 µm, 60 d) is established by intratracheal instillation.
