Social media-based groups offer a rich opportunity for nurse researchers to connect with potential study participants. However, as the authors discovered from recruitment of acute respiratory distress syndrome survivors in social media-based survivorship groups, there is a risk of enrollment of both false and duplicate participants. Nurse researchers should adopt best practices to screen out false participants and prevent duplicate participation. Lessons learned from recruitment in social media groups include avoiding the use of survey links, requiring video interviews or home visits for confirmation of identity, adoption of strategic screening questions, and avoidance of international groups (unless the aim is to recruit foreign nationals). Adoption of these practices can help to ensure that the data collected from group patrons are trustworthy. Nurses who read research and adopt findings into practice should critically examine if researchers implemented strategies to screen out false and duplicate participants to protect data integrity.

Arterial spin labelling (ASL) is a non-invasive magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) method. ASL techniques can quantitatively measure cerebral perfusion by fitting a kinetic model to the difference between labelled images (tag images) and ones which are acquired without labelling (control images). ASL functional MRI (fMRI) provides quantitative perfusion maps by using arterial water as an endogenous tracer instead of depending on vascular blood oxygenation level.

Decedent positive identification via visual comparisons of frontal sinus radiographs is commonly used in the medicolegal field; however, only a handful of studies have empirically tested this method. This study aimed to test the accuracy of visual assessment in frontal sinus identifications across a large and experientially diverse participant sample. A Qualtrics survey presented participants with 25 pairs of cropped frontal sinus radiographs, asking them to determine if they matched and their confidence level.

Introduction: The role of language in false belief reasoning has been much debated for twenty-five years or more, especially the relative contributions of general language development, complement syntax, vocabulary, and executive function. However, the empirical studies so far have fallen short, in that they generally have too few participants for adequate statistical modeling; they do not include control variables; or they are cross-sectional rather than longitudinal, making inferences about causal direction much more tenuous.
Methods: The present study considers the role of these different variables in the development of false belief reasoning over several months of testing, with 258 children aged three to five years.

Alexander's law states that spontaneous nystagmus increases when looking in the direction of fast-phase and decreases during gaze in slow-phase direction. Disobedience to Alexander's law is occasionally observed in central nystagmus, but the underlying neural circuit mechanisms are poorly understood. In a retrospective analysis of 2,652 patients with posterior circulations stroke, we found a violation of Alexander's law in one or both directions of lateral gaze in 17 patients with lesions of unilateral lateral medulla affecting the vestibular nucleus.
