Though antimicrobial stewardship programs (ASPs) are required for hospitals, the involvement of transplant recipients in programmatic interventions, protocols, and metrics has historically been limited. Though there is a growing interest in studying stewardship practices in transplant patients, optimal practices have not been clearly established. A component of ASPs, antiviral stewardship (AVS), specifically targeting cytomegalovirus (CMV), has been more recently described.

Key Laboratory of New Animal Drug Project, Gansu Province, Lanzhou 730050, China.
This cross-sectional study assessed the prevalence, bacterial distribution, antimicrobial susceptibility, and potential risk factors associated with subclinical mastitis (SCM) in small-holder dairy herds in Gansu Province, Northwest China. Forty small-holder cow farms were randomly selected from eight cities/counties in six districts of Gansu Province, and a total of = 530 lactating cows were included in this study. SCM prevalence was noted at 38.

The world has gone through the COVID-19 pandemic and has now returned to normalcy. We reviewed the strategies and public health actions conducted in Hong Kong during the COVID-19 pandemic, and reflected on the lessons learned, which are potentially useful in the fight against antimicrobial resistance (AMR). We recommended extending wastewater surveillance for AMR, apart from SARS-CoV2.

, a major opportunistic pathogen, causes severe infections in both community and healthcare settings, especially in intensive care units (ICUs), where multidrug-resistant (MDR) strains, such as carbapenem-resistant (CRKP), pose significant treatment challenges. The rise in hypervirulent (hvKP) with enhanced virulence factors complicates management further. The ST11 clone, prevalent in China, exhibits both resistance and virulence traits, contributing to hospital outbreaks.

: The increased prevalence of antibiotic resistance among Gram-negative bacteria presents a severe public health challenge, leading to increased mortality rates, prolonged hospital stays, and higher medical costs. In Greece, the issue of multidrug-resistant Gram-negative bacteria is particularly alarming, exacerbated by overuse of antibiotics and inadequate infection control measures. This study aimed to detect the prevalence of extensively drug-resistant (XDR) Gram-negative bacteria in a tertiary hospital in Western Greece over the last eight years from 2016 to 2023.
