Metal-organic framework (MOF) based substrates have great potential for quantitative analysis of hazardous substances using surface-enhanced Raman spectroscopy (SERS) due to their significant signal enhancement, but face challenges like complex preparation, and lack of tunability. Here, we have successfully prepared a well-defined core-satellite superstructure (ZIF-8@Ag) through solvent-induced assembly of silver nanoparticles (Ag NPs) on truncated rhombic dodecahedral ZIF-8. By wisely selecting toluene as the solvent, the assembly process can be easily initiated through ultrasonic treatment and it allows for precise morphological adjustments to build a range of superstructures with different assembly densities of Ag NPs feed ratio tuning.

A central theme is the renewed emphasis on the role of evidence-based policy. In the efforts to decarbonise the heat sector, heat pumps can offer a cost-effective transition away from fossil fuels. Water Source Heat Pumps (WSHP) can be utilised in cases where ambient water sources (river, ground water, abandoned mines water) are present. However, the economic benefits of different levels of heat pump centralisation as well as their comparative advantages over other decentralised options such as individual Air Source Heat Pumps (ASHP) or Gas Boilers (GB) remain uncertain and further investigations are necessary to fully assess their potential.

Low-and middle-income countries (LMICs) account for a significant proportion of the burden of disease for communicable illnesses globally; with malaria, tuberculosis (TB), and HIV/AIDS being the leading causes of death. Despite this disparity, LMICs often have limited or delayed access to newer optimal health products compared to high-income countries (HICs). This limitation in access, driven by a myriad of barriers, undermines the potential health benefits that could be gained in LMICs through the introduction of better health products.

Background: Community Health Workers locally known as Village Health Workers (VHW) in Lesotho are key members of the primary health workforce, and has been playing a significant role in building primary health systems in many countries and they can fill significant gaps in human resources as low and middle income countries work towards universal health coverage in the era of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The 2014 Lesotho health reform restructured the VHW program to compensate, professionalize, and integrate VHWs into primary care services. We sought to document the ways in which the VHW program changed as a result of the health reform and the perceived impact of those changes.
