This study describes the anatomy of the pituitary gland during endoscopic endonasal surgery. Before surgery, the extent of pneumatization of the sphenoid sinus and bony septations in the sphenoid sinus should be evaluated using computed tomography. After wide sphenoidotomy, several important surgical landmarks, including the medial and lateral opticocarotid recesses and carotid protuberances, can be observed in the sphenoid sinus. The pituitary gland is composed of two components: the adenohypophysis and neurohypophysis. Two small vessels, the superior and inferior hypophyseal arteries, supply the pituitary gland. Several vital structures exist inside the cavernous sinus, including the internal carotid artery and cranial nerves. Understanding the surgical anatomy is mandatory for treating lesions around the pituitary fossa via the endoscopic endonasal approach.

The approaches to correct thyroid deficiency include replacement therapy with thyroid hormones (THs), but such therapy causes a number of side effects. A possible alternative is thyroid-stimulating hormone (TSH) receptor activators, including allosteric agonists. The aim of this work was to study the effect of ethyl-2-(4-(4-(5-amino-6-(-butylcarbamoyl)-2-(methylthio)thieno[2,3-d]pyrimidin-4-yl)phenyl)--1,2,3-triazol-1-yl) acetate (TPY3m), a TSH receptor allosteric agonist developed by us, on basal and thyroliberin (TRH)-stimulated TH levels and the hypothalamic-pituitary-thyroid (HPT) axis in male rats with high-fat diet/low-dose streptozotocin-induced type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM).

and miRNA regulate mammalian pubertal initiation and Gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH) production. However, it remains unclear which signaling pathways regulates to modulate GnRH production. In this study, the mRNA expression levels of and in the pubertal and juvenile goat hypothalamus and pituitary gland were detected, and expression in the pubertal hypothalamus decreased significantly compared with that in juvenile tissues.

Background: Altered gut microbiota has been associated with dopaminergic degenerative diseases in people, but studies on horses with pituitary pars intermedia dysfunction (PPID) are lacking.
Hypothesis/objectives: Investigate the effect of PPID on fecal microbiota in horses.
Animals: Nine horses with PPID and 13 age-matched control horses.

Nutritional intake is closely linked to gonadal development, although the mechanisms by which food intake affects gonadal development are not fully understood. Cholecystokinin (CCK) is a satiety neuropeptide derived from the hypothalamus, and the present study observed that hypothalamic CCK expression is significantly influenced by food intake, which is mediated through blood glucose levels. Interestingly, CCK and its receptors were observed to exhibit a high expression in the hypothalamus-pituitary-gonad (HPG) axis of grass carp (), suggesting that CCK is potentially involved in regulating fish reproduction through the HPG axis.

Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) has gained prominence in thyroid imaging, leveraging its non-ionizing radiation, high spatial resolution, multiparameter and multidirectional imaging. Few previous studies have investigated the evaluation of radiation-induced thyroid injury by MRI.
