Background: Individuals with hearing impairments may face hindrances in health care assistance, which may significantly impact the prognosis and the incidence of complications and iatrogenic events. Therefore, the development of automatic communication systems to assist the interaction between this population and health care workers is paramount.

Objective: This study aims to systematically review the evidence on communication systems using human-computer interaction techniques developed for deaf people who communicate through sign language that are already in use or proposed for use in health care contexts and have been tested with human users or videos of human users.

Research progress of femoral head necrosis in HIV-infected patients.

Ann Med

December 2025

Department of Joint and Sports Medicine, Zhongnan Hospital, Wuhan University, Wuhan, China.

As life expectancy among patients infected with the human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) increases, a growing number of complications have been observed. This population displays an elevated risk of ischemic necrosis of the femoral head in comparison to the general population, which may be attributed to HIV infection, antiretroviral medication use, and hormone application. Patients infected with the human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) who also have necrosis of the femoral head tend to present at an earlier age, with a rapid disease progression and a high incidence of bilateral onset.

Traditional risk-score assessments were used to find the at-risk patients in order to prevent or early treatment of CAD. Adding imaging data to traditional risk-score systems will able us to find these patients more confidently and reduce the probable mismanagements.

Since the adoption of neoadjuvant chemoradiation and total mesorectal excision as the standard in rectal cancer care, there has been marked improvement in the local recurrence rates. In this context, restaging magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) plays a key role in the assessment of tumor response, occasionally enabling organ-sparing approaches. However, the role of restaging MRI in evaluating lateral lymph nodes remains limited.
