Metal complexes, particularly copper(II) complexes, are often used as anticancer drugs due to their ability to generate reactive oxygen species (ROS) in cells. Four copper(II) complexes have been designed based on ligands for triplet pyridine derivatives (complexes 1-4), and their structures have been determined using X-ray single crystal analysis. The interactions of these complexes with calf thymus DNA (CT-DNA) have been investigated using various techniques, including UV-vis absorption, viscosity measurements, and circular dichroism spectroscopy. The results indicate that complexes 1-4 strongly interact with DNA through partial intercalations. Further investigation using agarose gel electrophoresis shows that all four complexes can cleave pBR322 DNA in the presence of ascorbic acid as a reducing agent, and the DNA cleavage mechanism is through the generation of singlet oxygen (O). In vitro anticancer activities of these complexes have been evaluated using A549, MDA-MB-231, HeLa, and HepG2 cells. The calculated IC values indicate significant efficacy against cancer cells. Additionally, AO/EB staining assays reveal that these complexes induce cell apoptosis in HeLa cell line.

Ecological assembly-the process of ecological community formation through species introductions-has recently seen exciting theoretical advancements across dynamical, informational, and probabilistic approaches. However, these theories often remain inaccessible to non-theoreticians, and they lack a unifying lens. Here, I introduce the assembly graph as an integrative tool to connect these emerging theories.

Background: Schizophrenia is a multifactorial disorder influenced by various biological and psychosocial factors. This study aimed to determine the characteristics and associated factors of expressed emotion (EE) among caregivers of individuals with schizophrenia.
Methods: From May to July 2024, a cross-sectional study was conducted with caregivers of individuals with schizophrenia across multiple hospitals in Southern Thailand.

Background: Cerebral autoregulation is a robust regulatory mechanism that stabilizes cerebral blood flow in response to reduced blood pressure, thereby preventing cerebral ischaemia. Scientists have long believed that cerebral autoregulation also stabilizes cerebral blood flow against increases in intracranial pressure, which is another component that determines cerebral perfusion pressure. However, this idea was inconsistent with the complex pathogenesis of normal pressure hydrocephalus, which includes components of chronic cerebral ischaemia due to mild increases in intracranial pressure.

Introduction: Amyand's hernia, an uncommon condition characterized by the presence of the appendix within an inguinal hernial sac (< 1% incidence), poses diagnostic and therapeutic challenges. Often it is an intraoperative finding, with almost no clinical symptoms.
Case Presentation: This is a case of an Indian male in his early 80 years, diagnosed with bilateral direct inguinal hernias, one of which contained a noninflamed appendix.

Purpose: X-linked adrenoleukodystrophy (XALD) can affect the eyes. Existing therapies are hampered by early quantitative examination methods. This study used an optical coherence tomography angiography system (OCTA) to investigate retinal microvascular density and perfusion in XALD patients.
