Introduction: High tibial osteotomy (HTO) is indicated for managing isolated medial knee osteoarthritis in a young patient with a metaphyseal deformity of the proximal tibia. In a medial open-wedge HTO, maintaining the integrity of the hinge is crucial for consolidation and preservation of the correction. Based on a validated model and preliminary results, the objective of this work was to measure and monitor the distribution of mechanical load on a locking fixation plate and the lateral hinge of an HTO using a finite element (FE) model during different phases of consolidation evolution, simulating single leg weightbearing.

Background: Bereavement is a crucial physiological process in palliative care; grief-processing disorders can be diagnosed at least 6 months after death and can have severe clinical or psychological consequences. This study aims to verify how adequate management of anticipatory mourning and condolence conversations can be protective in the early stages of grief.
Methods: Patients and caregivers are supported by a multidisciplinary team through semi-structured interviews.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, changes in criminal-legal practices resulted in decreased incarceration, especially among women.

Background And Purpose: Craniosynostoses are rare congenital craniofacial malformations, variably affected by hearing loss, often requiring repeated CT examinations to assess skull or temporal bone (TB) abnormalities. In order to avoid radiation exposure in these young patients, efforts are made to assess the skull abnormalities on MR bone imaging sequences, such as Black Bone (BB). Our aim is to compare BB, a radiation-free imaging technique, with CT for the assessment of the TB.
