Background: Children born to women with inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) may have increased healthcare utilization in early life due to genetic susceptibilities and exposure to inflammation in utero, though this has not been robustly evaluated. We aimed to characterize healthcare use between these groups.
Methods: We accessed province-wide health administrative databases to identify children born to women with and without IBD between 2002-2019.

Bony metastases frequently involve the spinal column, most commonly the thoracic spine. Surgical interventions in spinal metastatic disease are palliative and effective in providing diagnoses, reducing pain, and maintaining ambulatory function through neural element decompression and improving axial pain and posture through spinal column stabilization. Surgeons must weigh the benefits of surgery against fragility and limited life expectancy in patients with cancer.

Ustekinumab (UST) is an interleukin-12/interleukin-23 receptor antagonist approved for the treatment of Crohn's disease (CD). Only limited real-life data on the long-term outcomes of CD patients treated with UST are available.
