Microbial infections and excessive reactive oxygen species are the primary contributors to delays in wound healing with Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Escherichia coli and Staphylococcus aureus as the common wound infection causing bacteria. In fact, wound management has become more challenging since most of these microbes have developed resistance against commonly used conventional antibiotics thus making it necessary to develop natural products with both antibacterial and antioxidant activities. Increasing attention has been paid to silk sericin in the last decade, with limited research focus in Africa.

Nowadays, much of the attention paid to building construction is focused on sustainability and environmental protection. The materials applied in construction should be safe and free of toxins, but they should also follow the idea of circular construction. Quests for materials with an appropriate structure and composition, unifying features of a construction, insulation (thermally and acoustically), and environmentally friendly material turned our attention in this paper toward expanded perlite (EP).

Background: Body fluid retention after major surgeries, including total knee arthroplasty (TKA), is well documented in the literature. Currently, multimodal pain control protocols consisting of several medications together with early discharge protocol may magnify this adverse event after a patient's discharge. However, no study has focused on the quantitative and chronological changes in body fluids following modern pain management protocols for TKA.

Background: Chronic diseases are a global health challenge, and therefore, more attention should be paid to improving self-efficacy in people with chronic diseases. This study examined the relationship between family health and self-efficacy, and explored the mediating role of perceived social support and the moderating role of health literacy. The aim is to enhance the self-efficacy of chronic patients by improving family health, social support, and health literacy, thereby improving their physical and mental state.
