Introduction Climate change is a decisive factor affecting human health. While many epidemiological studies have investigated the acute impacts of ambient temperature on mortality and morbidity, the global burden of infectious gastroenteritis linked to temperature changes remains largely unexplored. Therefore, we aimed to examine the exposure-response associations between ambient temperature and infectious gastroenteritis incidence throughout Japan and quantify the temperature-related morbidity burden.

Introduction: Immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICI) have improved the therapeutic arsenal in outpatient oncology care; however, data on necessity of hospitalizations associated with immune-related adverse events (irAEs) are scarce. Here, we characterized hospitalizations of patients undergoing ICI, from the prospective cohort study of the immune cooperative oncology group (ICOG) Hannover.
Methods: Between 12/2019 and 06/2022, 237 patients were included.
Chicken meat is a major source of foodborne salmonellosis. In Japan, fluoroquinolones and third-generation cephalosporins are the first- and second-choice treatments for Salmonella gastroenteritis, respectively. We investigated the prevalence and antimicrobial resistance of Salmonella in 154 chicken meat products from Hokkaido (42), Tohoku (45), Kanto (5), and Kyushu (62), Japan.

Objective: To develop and validate a prognostic model for risk-stratified monitoring of 5-aminosalicylate nephrotoxicity.
Methods: This UK retrospective cohort study used data from the Clinical Practice Research Datalink Aurum and Gold for model development and validation respectively. It included adults newly diagnosed with inflammatory bowel disease and established on 5-aminosalicylic acid (5-ASA) treatment between 1 January 2007 and 31 December 2019.
