Targeted Modulation of the Meningeal Lymphatic Reverse Pathway for Immunotherapy of Breast Cancer Brain Metastases.

Treatment of tumor brain metastases remains challenging due to the ineffectiveness of drugs in crossing the blood-brain barrier (BBB). Here, we proposed a potential strategy to target and modulate the meningeal lymphatic system for immunotherapy of breast cancer brain metastases (BCBM) through peripheral administration. CT/fluorescence dual-modality imaging demonstrated that the phospholipid nanoprobe (α-PLNPs) through intracisternal magna injection effectively labeled and long-range tracked the meningeal lymphatic pathway from meningeal lymphatic vessels (MLVs) to periphery drainage cervical lymph nodes (CLNs).

Adenovirus-based therapies have encountered significant challenges due to host immunity, particularly from pre-existing antibodies. Many trials have struggled to evade antibody response; however, the efficiency of these efforts was limited by the diversity of antibody Fv-region recognizing multiple amino acid sequences. In this study, we developed an antibody-evading adenovirus vector by encoding a plasma-rich protein transferrin-binding domain.

To investigate the value of preoperative MRI features and ADC histogram analysis for evaluating tumor-infiltrating CD8+ T cells in meningiomas. In this single-center cross-sectional study, we conducted a retrospective analysis of clinical, imaging, and pathological data from 84 patients with meningioma and performed immunohistochemical staining to quantitatively evaluate CD8+ T cells. Using X-Tile software, we divided the patients into high-and low-CD8+ T cells groups based on cut-off values.

Acinetobacter baumannii, an opportunistic bacterium prevalent in various environment, is a significant cause of nosocomial infections in ICUs. As the causative agent of pneumonia, septicemia, and meningitis, A. baumannii typically exhibits multidrug resistance and is associated with poor prognosis, thus led to a challenge for researchers in developing new treatment and prevention methods.

Shift work schedules alter immune cell regulation and accelerate cognitive impairment during aging.

J Neuroinflammation

January 2025

Department of Neuroscience and Experimental Therapeutics, School of Medicine, Texas A&M Health Science Center, Bryan, TX, 77807-3260, USA.

Background: Disturbances of the sleep-wake cycle and other circadian rhythms typically precede the age-related deficits in learning and memory, suggesting that these alterations in circadian timekeeping may contribute to the progressive cognitive decline during aging. The present study examined the role of immune cell activation and inflammation in the link between circadian rhythm dysregulation and cognitive impairment in aging.

Methods: C57Bl/6J mice were exposed to shifted light-dark (LD) cycles (12 h advance/5d) during early adulthood (from ≈ 4-6mo) or continuously to a "fixed" LD12:12 schedule.
